Yamaha FJR description

This is the best bike I have ever owned. Moved on to a newer model.. If you are familiar with this bike you know that it is almost bullet proof. Bike is bone stock except for heated grips that work, a 5 in. over sized extra windshield for the winter, handle bar risers, and Power commander tuning module. There is some minor body damage due to a slip and fall in a gravel parking lot. See photos. Also some expected wear above the foot pegs from boots. Mileage is reflected in the price. Believe the book price is right at $4000.00. Tires are decent but as a BONUS I will provide front and rear pilot road 2's. That's over $250.00 value. Brakes pads were changed about 15K ago. I usually got about 40K. Runs great. Oil changes and other maintenance done by me. Synthetic oil used. Fluids have been flushed in the last year. If you are looking for a cost effective daily driver or just a weekend of carving the mountain roads this is the bike you want. I have ridden 500 miles in a day no problem. Buyer will pay for shipping.  Location Atlanta Ga. area

Ben Spies Signs Contract Extension with Yamaha

Wed, 08 Jun 2011

Yamaha has signed Ben Spies to a one-year contract extension to continue racing on its MotoGP factory team in 2012. The extension comes after Spies, currently seventh in the Championship standings, recorded his first podium finish of the 2011 season, a third place result at Catalunya. Spies earned two other podium finishes in 2010 in his Rookie of the Year winning debut in the class with the Tech 3 satellite team.

Yamaha Files Trademark Application for FJ-09

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

Yamaha‘s next three-cylinder motorcycle may be a sport-tourer, if a recently-filed trademark application is any indication. The Tuning Fork brand filed a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the name “FJ-09” as it applies to “Motorcycles, scooters, three-wheeled scooters and structural parts for all the aforesaid goods.” Following Yamaha’s usual naming conventions, the signs indicate the trademark will be for a new sport-touring model using the same Triple as the FZ-09. Yamaha has made it clear it plans to introduce more three-cylinder engines following the FZ-09 (or MT-09, as it is known in Europe.) Previously-filed trademark applications for the YZF-R3 and R3 names raised speculation the next triple would be a sportbike, but as per Yamaha’s usual naming convention, the “3″ in R3 is likelier to refer to the engine displacement rather than the number of cylinders.
