    Cleaning out the garage - I'm downsizing to a condominium and the bikes have to go.  I am the 2nd owner of this bike which I bought in 2004 from a private party with 4K miles on it.  I added the BMW right & left system cases and wider & taller windscreen from Wunderlich.  It has normal wear & tear but no damage (never been down) and everything works as it should.  It's due for new tires (last new set went on 7K miles ago); still some tread there but I did have to plug a hole in the rear recently so it's a good idea to replace both.  Bike may have a few more miles on it when you get it as it is my daily driver to and from work weather permitting (~12 miles round  trip).   On Sep-18-13 at 01:59:50 PDT, seller added the following information: This bike is equipped with ABS brakes.

     Up for sale we have a rear harder to find 2004 BMW R1200C Montauk.  We are a BMW motorcycle dealership & we acquired this motorcycle in trade recently from a store client of ours.  The features on this BMW include heated grips, and ABS Brakes.  This 1200cc BMW motorcycle is in very good condition both mechanically & cosmetically.  There is some pitting visible on the front fender & some rust on the edge of the gas cap (see close up images).  There is also some minor scratches visible throughout the motorcycle, and the left rear turn signal has been repaired.  Otherwise, there is only normal wear on the hand grips & rest of motorcycle.        2010 BMW S1000RR currently set up for track days or club racing.  Suspension is stock but has been revalved and set up for a 170 lb rider.  Bike is very stable and handles well at speed, no issues at all.  Motor is stock , only mods to bike are Bazzaz engine management system with tune, Sato rearsets and Arrow full system.   I have most stock parts including signals and pssgr foot pegs so converting it back to street trim shouldn't be too difficult.. Bike is currently registered in CA as a non op track bike.  Cosmetically it has been on the track has some scuffs and dings , body work is not perfect, but it is priced accordingly.   I know very little about the bikes history.  I bought it with 10000 miles on it from an AFM racer who used it as I have , as a street and occas track day bike.  He claims to have never raced the bike or laid it down, but I cant guarantee this.  I have never crashed on this bike and put another nearly 9k trouble free miles on it.   I just did the very expensive 18000 mile service.  The bike has no warranty expressed or implied, however if you find that I have misrepresented it in any way you can return it to me within 1 wk of purchase.  If you are local, contact me for a test ride.   Bike is super fast , more than I can handle for sure .  Dunlop slicks have about 10 laps on them.  Email any questions or request for test rides.. reserve is super low, someone is going to get a smoking deal    Thanks for looking   pellis@bak.rr.com.  Bike is relisted due to non payment.  If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks please contact before bidding or bid will be cancelled.  I reserve the right to cancel any bidders bid at any time.  Would strongly prefer to sell locally and have prospective buyer see and examine bike.  I will not ship to any countries except continental us, and shipping is the buyers responsibility though I will assist on my end.

FIM Eases WSBK Homologation Requirements

With the 2014 World Superbike Championship now under way, the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) announced a change in the homologation procedure for new motorcycles entering the series. The new regulations requires a minimum of 125 units produced in order to begin the homologation process. By the end of the first year of participation, manufacturers must have produced 250 units.

Michael Dunlop to Race for BMW at 2014 Isle of Man TT

BMW Motorrad UK has signed seven-time winner Michael Dunlop to race in the 2014 Isle of Man TT and other international road races. Dunlop will be the first factory-backed BMW rider in 50 years, and will try to be the first rider to win a TT race on a BMW since Georg Meier won in 1939 on a RS 255 Kompressor. Dunlop, nephew of the great Joey Dunlop, was the star of the 2013 Isle of Man TT, winning four races and finishing second in the Senior TT on Honda machines.

The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) reported a modest 1.4% growth in U.S. motorcycle and scooter sales in 2013, with consumers purchasing 465,783 vehicles. The sales data represents numbers from the MIC’s member brands which include BMW, Can-Am, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, the Piaggio Group (which includes Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and Vespa), Victory, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha.

2014 WSBK Provisional Entry List – 27 Riders and 9 Manufacturers

The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) released a provisional entry list for the 2014 World Superbike Championship. The provisional list includes 27 riders riding motorcycles from nine different manufacturers. Of these riders, 12 are riding in the new EVO sub-category which limits engine upgrades and electronics to Superstock class rules.

For 2014 Ural has equipped its line-up of two-wheelers and sidecars with some very modern componentry. Ural models now enjoy the benefits of electronic fuel injection (EFI), disc brakes (on all three wheels) and an hydraulic steering damper. Ural claims the motorcycles have received “dozens of other upgrades,” but did not provide details as to nature of those upgrades.
