1978 Yamaha XT 500 in great shape- bike has new spokes and tires and a new battier and a new top end on the bike-and runs like the beast that it is . This bike was the bad boy from the day and is a great bike to drive to the trail and go anywhere. Bike has been gone over and needs nothing buy a driver. If you are looking at this bike you already know why they called it the thumper is a blast to drive on the back roads to the trails. It draws a lot of attention everywhere I have gone on the bike. If you are looking for one of these this is the one low miles -and I would say the bike probably has not seen a trail. Kenny Roberts R1 Auction Nets $87,000 for Charity
Mon, 22 Aug 2011The one-off GYTR-equipped Yamaha YZF-R1 ridden by “King” Kenny Roberts at this year’s U.S. Grand Prix at Laguna Seca was auctioned for $87,000. Roberts and late night television star Jay Leno were the special guest auctioneers for the R1 at Mecum’s Motorcycle Auction in Monterey, Calif.

So much so that Yamaha has announced a unique opportunity to bid on a historic set of road racing leathers, boots, gloves, and helmet as worn by Edwards during this, his final season in MotoGP. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Feed the Children, which is Yamaha Motor Corporation’s official corporate charity.

Fri, 24 Sep 2010THE YAMAHA YZF-R1 ridden by nine-time motorcycle world champion Valentino Rossi at the 2009 TT has gone up for sale on eBay for £25,000.The 998cc 182bhp machine was ridden by Rossi when he lapped the Isle of Man TT course during a parade lap for Yamaha and Dainese in 2009. Authenticated by Yamaha Motors UK, this unique 181-mile machine has been signed by the multiple world champ and is being sold by Oldham-based Highbarn Motorcycles. Any takers?
