2001 Triumph Bonneville 790cc. 10,044 miles. Clear title (California). Registration paid through February 10, 2017. Included: Black leather panniers kit ($400 value; assembly required), Haynes Service & Repair book ($65 value), and owner's manual. This has been a fun bike. Selling because wife and I will be retiring and are starting process of downsizing. It's time to clear out my garage "toys". This "new"Bonneville, reintroduced by the new Triumph company in November 2000, shares the name, engine configuration and style of the "old" Bonneville T120 and T140, but that is about all it shares. The new Bonneville maintains the styling and character of the popular old models but infuses the bike with modern technology including a 790cc parallel twin air and oil-cooled engine. A 360-degree crank means the pistons rise and fell simultaneously, but are set to fire on alternate strokes. Twin balancer shafts run off a gear on the right-hand end of the crankshaft to eliminate most of the vibration, while leaving enough to provide essential character. A central cam chain drives the double overhead camshafts actuating four valves per cylinder. Mon, 26 May 2014Bryan Smith edged out Kenny Coolbeth Jr. by a mere 0.041 seconds to win the AMA Pro Flat Track Experts Twins race at the Springfield Mile. The ten laps of the race saw Smith and his Kawasaki battling for the lead with Coolbeth and Jake Johnson and Jared Mees sitting close behind waiting for an opening.
2013 AMA Daytona 200 Race Report
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Cameron Beaubier led a parade of Yamaha YZF-R6 racebikes to win the 72nd running of the famed Daytona 200. The Yamaha Extended Service Graves Yamaha rider started from pole position and led for 50 of 57 laps before winning by a 22.254-second margin. Behind Beaubier were four other R6 riders including his teammate Garret Gerloff who finished second.
