Harley-Davidson Touring description

On a scale of 1 - 10 this bike is an 8 -9.  I only say that as it is a rider not a polish it, tow it, and ride it bike.  I have been cross the US twice in this bike for an estimated 13,000 miles, and once on my 06 Ultra for 8,000 miles.  I purchased this bike from Quality Cycle of Wisconsin, a family owned company, who restore an estimated 250 bikes a year.  I asked Scott to find me a low mileage, clean, rideable HD Ultra Classic.  He did just that.  The bike had a front fairing outer, tour pack  replaced and blackened.  The bike was checked thoroughly as they do all their restorations.  I flew into Wisconsin, got on the bike and headed West, and have thoroughly enjoyed this bike.  I had a Harley mechanic ride the bike before Scott worked on the bike.  The Title is clear; however, the state of N J coded it S due to the repairs.  I will show the bike in it's original condition when purchased and currently.


I have had the best mechanics work on this bike, locally, and an award winning painter paint the bike a second time as I wanted it to have a higher gloss.  My plan was to do a mild custom with stretched bags for this winter's project.  If you enjoy going long this is the bike to do it in.  The back rest, highway pegs, floor boards, air ride, six speed, stretched frame, 180 rear tire, and the premium sound system is the only way to do go if you are a serious long distance rider.  OH THE BIKE HAS BEEN IN THE #$%^&* RAIN,  just like when you wash it.  The Michelin Commander 11 tires where specifically designed for rain, long mileage, stability, and comfort for a 910 lb. heavy cruiser.  Two up you don't even know she is there just the way it was meant to be:)

Harley Declares Women Riders Month

Back in July of ’08 Motorcycle.com announced that The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum and Nationwide Insurance were working together to mark July as Women’s Motorcycle Month in order to honor the contribution made to history by female riders. This May, Harley-Davidson is staging a series of events in order to celebrate women on two wheels by declaring May, “Women Riders Month.” Some of the Harley-Davidson Women Riders Month initiatives will include special rides in New York City and Milwaukee as well as an attempt to grace the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of women motorcycle riders trained in one weekend. Harley-Davidson dealerships will also be hosting women-only Garage Parties, which consist of informal meetings in an unintimidating environment where women can learn about motorcycling.

Marlon Brando Estate Files Suit Against Harley-Davidson

Brando Enterprises, an operating entity that protects the Marlon Brando brand on behalf of the actor’s family, has filed a lawsuit against Harley-Davidson. The suit alleges Harley-Davidson used the legendary actor’s name without a license for a leather riding boot called “The Brando”. “It is interesting that Harley-Davidson – a company that is vigorously protective of its own brand – would seek to exploit an iconic property without benefit of a licensing agreement,” says  Jeffrey I.

46,061 Motorcycles Stolen in US in 2012

An average of 126 motorcycles were stolen in the U.S. every day in 2012, according to a report released by the the National Insurance Crime Bureau. That’s from a total of 46,061 motorcycles reported stolen that year a 1.3% improvement from the 46,667 motorcycles reported stolen in 2011.
