1942 Harley Davidson WLA in Civilian Dress. Alot of Original parts on this bike. 45ci wla motor with aluminum heads and 3 spd transmission. Linkert m51 carb. Starts right up. Original Fenders and Tanks. Rear fender was cut and repaired by the battery box...look at pictures. Original frame and front end, wheels crash bar. Original footboards with the rivited rubber matts. Original center stand. Dash base is original but dash cover is repo. Other known repo parts are speedo, horn, headlight and taillight. The bike has been sitting for a couple years, i took it out the other day charged the battery and it started right up. It is missing the battery cover, chain guard and there is no tool box. the speedo does not appear to be hooked up either. This is a very nice bike and has the certain patina that you do not see too often anymore. REAL patina...not the fabricated kind. I do not have a title for this motorcycle, and I cannot get one due to the title laws in the State of Maine. I will provide a Registration and a Bill of Sale. Harley-Davidson Confirms 500cc Model on the Way, Says Electric Harleys Not That Far-Fetched
Mon, 02 Sep 2013It’s only been a couple of weeks since Harley-Davidson broke new ground by unveiling new “Twin-Cooled” liquid precision-cooling engine technology its new Project Rushmore suite of customer-driven refinements, but the Motor Company appears to have even more ambitious plans in the works. Speaking at Harley-Davidson’s 110th anniversary celebrations, Chief Operating Officer Matthew Levatich confirmed the company is producing a new 500cc model and opened the possibility of an electric Harley-Davidson somewhere down the line. We’ve previously written about Harley-Davidson’s plans to introduce a new 500cc V-Twin model for the Indian market.
