BMW R-Series description

Excellent condition 1982 BMW R65LS motorcycle.  Only 6400 ever produced.
I am the third owner, always an Arizona bike.  Absolutely beautiful, nearly pristine motorcycle.  Has won awards at shows in Southern Arizona. 
Small nick on the front fender.
Runs well.  Maintained by local BMW technician.  No leaks.  Stored indoors and always kept clean.  
Comes with two OEM BMW system hard case luggage bags, tool kit, and tool tray.  Working factory BMW accessory socket.
Two new battery straps installed.
Annual service on fluids performed July 2016.
New fuel petcock installed July 2016.
Locks on bags work and I have the keys.
Bike comes with original folding ignition key and spare.
Black chrome mufflers / exhausts in excellent condition.
Has after-market Koni shocks and Brown side stand.  Both are period-correct accessories for the motorcycle.  The Brown side stand is superior to the BMW brand side stand.
Standard seat and custom lower seat included.
Includes original owners manual. 
Has the Euro-spec LS bars.

Lamborghini Plows Into BMW Motorcycle Dealership

Pictured here is the carnage left behind after a driver lost control of a Lamborghini Murciélago and plowed through a row of motorcycles parked outside a BMW dealership in Mariano Comense, a town north of Milan, Italy. According to Italian site InFullGear, the driver veered into the oncoming lane while approaching a curve before losing control and running into the parked motorcycles before bouncing off and coming to a stop in the middle of the road. The crash injured three people, though thankfully none of them were seriously injured.

Dainese to Develop Airbag-Equipped Riding Gear for BMW; Technology Coming to BMW Motorcycles in 2015

BMW announced a new joint project with Dainese that would develop a new line of rider equipment using the Italian company’s integrated airbag technology. The two companies will also be working on integrating the technology to BMW’s motorcycles. The new line will make use of Dainese’s D-Air technology developed by MotoGP racers such as Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.
