BMW R-Series description

Excellent conditions, numbers matching. Restored at a very high level about 10 yrs ago in OHIO where I bought it on 2008 and shortly after imported to Italy where it currently is. Since then I haven't used it much and conditions are just about they were in 2008. According to previous owner mileage since restoration was less than 2k miles and I added no more than few hundreds so engine is, and sounds, like new.

You are bidding on what you see on the pictures.

This bike is in ITALY. I can ship the bike to any major country in the world at buyer's expenses, professional crating can be supplied if requested. Shipping cost depends on destination, however for the US cost is between 1100 and 1500 euro depending on the US location (Customs duties are not included). Crating cost is additional.

A $500 paypal deposit is due within 48hrs from auction ending. The remaining amount is due by bank to bank transfer within 15 days and anyway before the bike leaves my place.

Questions are welcome.

Around the world on a Multistrada

Tue, 07 Jun 2011

Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.

Tracy has six class victories in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, winning in 1996, 1999, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010. His victories have come riding motorcycles from several manufacturers: Honda, Yamaha, BMW and, more recently, Ducati.

2009 BMW S1000RR Entering Production

Wed, 04 Feb 2009

We’re finally able to share some pictures and info about the production version of BMW’s new literbike, the S1000RR. We now know that it has a claimed dry weight of 403 pounds, which should be competitive with its Japanese literbike rivals. The all-new inline-Four powerplant displaces 999cc, and its cylinder head is said to be very narrow and compact, with the valves actuated by “very small” cam followers that are nearly at Formula 1 levels in size.
