2004 BMW R1150RT-P Motorcycle
111,000 miles and runs great. This is the police model, and was formally a California Highway Patrol (CHiPs) bike. The lights and sirens were removed, and a rear seat installed so you can ride 2-up like normal. I had the local BMW motorcycle shop perform all scheduled maintenance last fall, plus it has: -New tires -New stainless steel braided brake lines -New batteries Police model unique features: -larger alternator -two batteries -switch to turn off the lights -fan behind the oil cooler. Other R1150RT features include: -removable locking hard luggage -adjustable height windshield -heated grips -fuel injection -fuel gauge -adjustable headlamp beam height -three-position driver's seat No warranty. BMW Announces Recall Campaign for K1600 Family Motorcycles
Fri, 25 Feb 2022The recall concerns all 2019-2020 BMW K1600 models due to the risk of rear suspension link failure caused by a manufacturing defect - the strength of the part does not meet the factory requirements. This linkage may be destroyed during normal road use, causing the rear of the motorcycle to fall onto the rear wheel. BMW dealers this spring will begin notifying owners of motorcycles that are subject of the recall campaign to visit an authorized dealership for a rear suspension linkage replacement.

The six-cylinder BMW K1600GT received a score of 41 points from the jury to top all contenders. Second place went to the Ducati Diavel at 32 points.
