BMW K-Series description

I am listing this low mileage 1990 K100LT ABS-Gen1 BMW motorcycle for the original adult owner. All miles were acquired during husband and wife motorcycle touring.

This beautiful motorcycle was purchased from A&S BMW in Sacramento, Ca as the wife's bike of a matching pair (consecutive serial numbers)  of his and hers touring motorcycles in May of 1991.

This motorcycle was lowered for the lady rider with shorter Progressive shock absorber, fork tubes adjusted up in triple clamp and a lowered Corbin seat and kit by A&S BMW.

This bike was always serviced by A&S until 2000 when the retired couple moved to Springfield, Mo area and then serviced by Bentonville BMW and has always been garaged.

The current metallic red smoke paint scheme with ceramic clear for durability was applied while repairing fairing damage as the result of a parked tip over at a campout in Kansas.  Less than 500 miles have been added since repaint.

Additional running light elements were added to the original turn signal lamp sockets for added visibility/conspicuity.

This motorcycle was recently serviced by Bentonville BMW in March 2016 which included a new battery, fuel injector cleaning, fuel filter, oil change, transmission and final drive oil, coolant flush, brake system flush, fork oil change. The tires are in fair condition.

The original tool roll, Rider's Manual and a Clymer's Maintenance Manual are included in this auction.

This bike is being sold “as is where is” with no warranty implied or expressed.

Please ask questions before bidding.

The auction winner is responsible for pickup and transportation from current location.

The owner will assist in coordination with pickup and or shipping dates/times, etc. only.  No loading ramps, docks, etc. are available.

Turn your BMW into a fire engine

Wed, 16 Mar 2011

German fire engine and pump manufacturer Rosenbauer have utilised the ubiquitous BMW 1200 boxer engine to produce a powerful and lightweight water pump.  The engine runs as normal, using it's torqey qualities to power the high pressure waterpump attached.  Firefighters can carry this compact pump closer to the fire, and go where the normal fire engine cannot reach.
