Yamaha YZF-R description

Thanks for looking at this posting.
I have a very rough looking 2005 Yamaha R1 that I picked up from a friend before he deployed.
For looks, this bike is very rough. I will be up front and honest about the shape and condition. Please ask for any clarification. Contact me directly at justinjlopez86@gmail.com

But it has a great foundation. It is a strong engine on a good frame with good tires, etc. This bike would be BEST suited for a practice track bike. NOT to impress your friends with its looks.
There are a few issues that need to be worked, but can be done so very easily. The fuel tank has two pinhole leaks that just developed within the month as I was trying to clean the tank. And the fuel pump needs to be cleaned/replaced. The bike runs, but the fuel storage and delivery will keep you from optimum performance. Also, the chain is rusty and needs to be oiled.

It's a great bike, but I don't have the time to work on it. I've priced all used parts on eBay that I'd buy to replace them (fuel tank= 130, fuel pump= 80, and new fairings= 270). I think with a little love and elbow grease, a person could have a great bike to ride.

Finally, my friend (deployed), couldn't hand over the title to me before he left. Long story short, he dropped the bike off at my house but forgot to bring the paperwork with it. We remain in contact, but it's difficult with him out of the country for a year. He is currently working to ship me the title now, which is in his possession, but the process is slow due to his current location and assignment. The bike was last registered at Fort Bragg, NC, but I'm stationed with the bike here at Fort Sill, OK. So applying for a lost title is difficult for me as well.
So this is a problem you would have to tackle if you want it for a road bike, and bear with us as we work through the administrative process. You will get the title, and we can arrange a deal to ensure you receive it.

Thanks again, and please feel free to ask for any more info! I have pics and video of it running.
Please contact me directly at justinjlopez86@gmail.com and I'll send you pics and video.

Colin Edwards Puts Yamaha Extended Service Agents Through Boot Camp [Video]

Tue, 05 Jul 2011

We love Colin Edwards. Okay, not like that kind of love, but more the “I want to go on a Man-cation with him” kind of way. The man is flat out funny, a guarantee Grade A quote at press conferences and, as he showed in his unexpected podium finish at this year’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone, he’s still fast.

2014 AMA Supercross – Oakland Results

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

With three different racers tasting victory in the first three rounds of the 2014 AMA Supercross Championship, the season was shaping up to be one of the deepest and most competitive fields we’ve seen. But at Round Four at O.o Coliseum in Oakland, Calif., Ryan Villopoto showed why he remains the top dog, leading each lap for his second win of the season. The Kawasaki rider only trailed at the very start of the race, as Honda rider Vince Friese took the holeshot with Yamaha‘s Justin Brayton slotting in second through the first corner.

GSX-R600 and CBR250R the glass is half full

Wed, 13 Oct 2010

Suzuki’s GSX-R600 might not look that much different to the outgoing model but I suspect this bike could be very much a dark horse in 2011. I say this because two years ago I was definitely not building my hopes up en route to the K9 GSXR 1000 launch. The leaked pictures suggested the biggest change from the 2007 version would be some fresh graphics but I was so wrong.  As it turned out, I was greeted in Almeria with a brand new bike, built from the tarmac up and it proved to be more than a match in every department for the much hyped 2009 Yamaha R1.
