Yamaha XT description
Yamaha XT500 XT500H XT 500 1981
I have to sell my XT500H, 1981. It has 3300-some miles on it at this
posting, and runs really great. The entire ignition system is brand-new
- pulse coil, CDI, HT coil, and spark plug. New rectifier as well. Recently replaced Pulse Coil, with Yamaha OEM genuine part, by
the lead mechanic at a local shop/dealership, and replaced the rest of the ignition system at the same time. It starts and runs reliably. The original ignition coil and CDI,
presumably good, go with the bike, as well as the other original parts
I've replaced. I put all-new cables on - except the compression release
cable - and the original clutch and front brake cables are still good.
The carb I put on it is the flat-sided Mikuni from The Vintage Spoke
(as is everything else I bought for the bike) supposed to give a little
better performance. New petcock on the tank, new handgrips, new
ignition switch. It has a K&N air filter, a square one like the
original, even uses the original bracket in the airbox.
It has a Hi-Flo oil filter, with Amsoil 20W-50 in it. I had never spent $15 a quart on oil before!
Original carb leaked, so I replaced the whole thing - it ran fine, but
leaked when engine was off. Needs a rebuild, or just the main gasket, but it
works fine. All original parts I've retained and go with, including the
original owners manual, and the Clymer shop manual I bought for it. Original air filter is there as well.
I really don't want to part with this bike, it runs perfectly, and has
nearly everything replaced on it to restore it to original condition
and function.

I think I must be forgetting some item here, but I've replaced
everything I thought needed to be replaced just for confidence and peace
of mind, so I can ride without fear of a break-down do to an aging
component. The tank is nearly perfect, a very slight dimple on each
side of the tank, but very small, hard to find in the pics. The paint
on it is great, the side-plates are in great shape. Email me if you
want other info, thanks.

Bolt Headlines Returning 2015 Models From Star & Yamaha
Thu, 05 Jun 2014With all the excitement focused on the FZ-07′s stateside introduction, let us not forget these equally important models returning to Star’s and Yamaha’s 2015 lineup: the Bolt and Bolt R-Spec, the street-legal WR250R, XT250 and TW200, and the Blu Cru MXers; the 2-stroke YZ85/125/250, and 4-stroke YZ250F/450F. Bolt Like the FZ-09′s success, the Bolt is a smash hit for Star Motorcycles. So good, in fact, Star says the Bolt and Bolt R-Spec have been the best selling metric cruisers in all displacement sizes for the last 12 months ending in April of this year.
Yamaha FZ-07 Available Stateside In July
