Yamaha SR500 description

Mad Max would be proud...

Putting my custom SR500 "thumper" up for sale. Approx 15k miles. New odo says 348.

This bike was my labor of love last winter, but I'm moving on to my next project.

Here's a quick walk-around video (still had side panels and oxblood grips): https://youtu.be/_Mj1IJ7wlCs

Nearly everything on this bike is either new or restored. I'm working on posting an exhaustive list of parts.

Some of the new stuff:

• Kenda Dual Sport Tires

• Mikuni carb, totally dialed in. First or 2nd kick and it's on!

• Professional paint on tank and powder coated wheels. Rear hoop fabricated by Chappell Customs.

• New ignition w/ 2 sets of keys (and new gas cap w/ keys)

• Entire cockpit - gauges, handlebars, Biltwell Recoil grips, levers, etc.

• Tuffside seat with Custom Dynamic LED rear tail light / brake light

• Completely rebuilt brakes w/ new pads, pistons, gaskets and fluid. (She stops easily.)

• Oil and filter changed. Also added steel-braided twin feed oil line.

• All records kept - you'll know all the parts and from whence they came.

Also new: Hooligan muffler, stainless steel engine hardware, HHB brake cylinder, motion pro cable and throttle assembly.

Not shown but included, original carb, front fender, spare rear shocks, professionally painted side panels in gloss black w/ new rubber bushing for mounting and other misc. parts.

I'd really like to remove the old battery box and tuck everything up under seat but have yet to. I had the panels on for so long I never got to it, but personally like the look better w/o them on. Your choice as to how you want to make that aesthetic change.

These bikes are becoming increasingly hard to find and highly collectible so I hope I don't kick myself later, But I'm buying a new house (happy wife, happy life). The last one I did sold really quickly on eBay.

I take great pride in each bike I restore and try to really sweat the details while maintaining affordability. I'm happy to take other pics if needed. Badge on tank is a die-cut sticker and can be removed.

The right buyer will know how collectible these are and appreciate it for simplicity, aesthetics and badassery. No warranties express or implied. Sold as is.

Clean NC title in hand, in my name. Quick and easy sale when you're ready. I have bought and sold several motorcycles on eBay and i'm happy to help you coordinate with your shipper.

Check out the feedback from other bike buyers. I LOVE restoring motorcycles. Thanks for looking, ride safely and good luck!
