Yamaha Raider description

2009 Yamaha Raider S, Candy Red w/Flames 8,250 Miles One Owner Great Condition The 2009 Yamaha Raider S not only looks good...it offers an incredible riding experience too. 2009 Yamaha Raider S (XV1900S) Features: Engine: High-performance, 1854cc (113 cubic inch) air-cooled, long-stroke, OHV, 4 valves per cylinder, 48, V-twin power plant produces massive torque and class leading acceleration from very low rpms. Maximum torque occurs at 2,500 rpm while maximum power occurs at 4,500 rpm, providing exciting acceleration with great pulse / torque feel. Traditional pushrod valve actuation keeps engine height down for a lower center of gravity and ensures more uniform heat dissipation due to absence of a cam chain case. A lower center of gravity helps to insure light, easy handling. Carburetion Twin-Bore electronic fuel injection throttle position sensor The Raider S achieves fuel economy is great. I average around 42 mpg with a fuel tank that holds 4.2 gallons of gas. Smooth-shifting, 5-speed transmission features optimized gear ratios for both strong low rpm acceleration and relaxed highway cruising. 5th gear is an overdrive gear for reduced engine rpms at highway speeds for maximum riding comfort. Low maintenance, clean, quiet belt drive eliminates messy chain splatter while maximizing power output. History has proven that belt drive systems are ultra reliable and rarely need alignment or tensioning. The belt is embedded with carbon fiber for incredible strength. Motorcyclist Nabbed For Going 166 MPH on NY Thruway

Fri, 04 May 2012

McCarthy’s wit isn’t as quick as his motorcycle. “A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.” (Proverbs 12:23 KJV)   According to reports, New York State Police arrested Nikkolaus McCarthy, 25, of Charlton, N.Y., this past Wednesday afternoon after he was “clocked” riding his motorcycle at 166 mph on the New York State Thruway in Ravena, N.Y. But it seems McCarthy needs to learn the simple concept of avoiding self-incrimination.

WSBK 2013: Moscow Race Report

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Marco Melandri captured his third win of the season, the Ducati 1199 Panigale scored its first podium while Sylvain Guintoli regained the championship lead despite dislocating his collarbone days before the race. But the big news at Moscow Raceway of course was the tragic death of Andrea Antonelli in the World Supersport race. The opening-lap crash in severely wet conditions naturally led to the cancellation of the rest of the events as the World Superbike community mourns the loss of the 25-year-old Antonelli.

Yamaha Files Trademark Application for FJ-09

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

Yamaha‘s next three-cylinder motorcycle may be a sport-tourer, if a recently-filed trademark application is any indication. The Tuning Fork brand filed a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the name “FJ-09” as it applies to “Motorcycles, scooters, three-wheeled scooters and structural parts for all the aforesaid goods.” Following Yamaha’s usual naming conventions, the signs indicate the trademark will be for a new sport-touring model using the same Triple as the FZ-09. Yamaha has made it clear it plans to introduce more three-cylinder engines following the FZ-09 (or MT-09, as it is known in Europe.) Previously-filed trademark applications for the YZF-R3 and R3 names raised speculation the next triple would be a sportbike, but as per Yamaha’s usual naming convention, the “3″ in R3 is likelier to refer to the engine displacement rather than the number of cylinders.
