Yamaha RZ350 description

You are bidding on a 1985 Yamaha RZ350.  This bike is 100% original, down to exhaust, and doesn't appear to have been molested or tampered with.  It's a great restoration candidate for someone who wants a true stocker.  I purchased this bike 6 months ago, with restoration in mind.  I already have another RZ, and just have too many projects.  I've owned this bike for about 6 months now, and it has just sat in my shop. When I picked it up, the guy notified me it had been sitting for 10+ years in his garage.  This 2 stroke is sure to be a fun bike for someone...

Good things to know about this bike:
- Clean paperwork
     - Vermont Transferrable Registration in MY name.
- Complete and Original
     - I have yet to find something missing from this bike.  I'm not perfect, so check the pics for yourself.
- Numbers matching
     - VIN & EIN match exactly
- This is a 1985 RZ350, making it much more desirable than the 1984 version.
     - The ignition and electrical is significantly better than the 84, with far less issues.
- Engine turns freely
     - Compression tested at 110 PSI when I picked it up 6 months ago
     - Could need a rebuild, or since it's been dry for so long, compression could come up once fired up and has oil in it.
- Cooling system is full.
     - Anti Freeze full, with NO leaks.
- Brake systems work
     - Both master cylinders filled with fluid and work.
     - This is rare when bikes sit this long, which SHOULD save you expensive rebuilds and parts costs.
- Key is included
     - Ignition, fuel cap & helmet lock are all keyed the same

 The Bad:
- The fuel tank is in rough shape
     - There are a few dents in the typical RZ locations where the bars hit the tank.
     - There are misc pinholes in tank and some decent holes in the bottom sides of the tank
     - Depending on your skill or patience, it may be able to be fixed.  I'm NOT a body guy.  I took pics of all blemishes for you to decide for yourself.
- I literally know NOTHING else about bike
     - I did a quick inspection upon purchase, powerwashed 10 years of dust from it and it's sat ever since

I reserve the right to end auction at ANY time, as this bike is also FOR SALE locally.  Feel free to make an appointment to stop by and visually inspect for your self.  716-481-7442

Don't let distance discourage you from shipping the bike.  The shipper I use, or can recommend, can ship anywhere in lower 48 states for $450.  I have used them multiple times, but most recent time was 4 months ago.

Police Catch Up with Motorcycle Doing 185 mph in YouTube Video

Fri, 20 Apr 2012

Authorities in British Columbia, Canada, have impounded a 2006 Yamaha R1 believed to have starred in a YouTube video reaching speeds of 299 kph (185 mph) on a freeway. The onboard video, embedded after the jump, captures the Yamaha weaving through traffic, and often lane-splitting between other vehicles, covering a 4.67 mile stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway in about a minute and 56 seconds. That translates to an average speed of 144.6 mph.
