Yamaha RZ350 NC Kenny Roberts description
This is a 1985 Yamaha RZ350 NC motorcycle with 2694 miles that has been garage parked under a cover since 1987 with a disassembled engine. The bike was purchased in 1985 from A&D Yamaha in Modesto, and all routine maintenance was done by Kenny Roberts Yamaha in Modesto. In 1987 the head went to SpecII for squish machining and Protopipe pipes were installed. After a burned piston the barrels were sent to Roberts Yamaha for reboring and the crankshaft sent to SpecII for a rebuild as recommended by Roberts Yamaha. Spec II trued and welded the crank, and installed new bearings. All necessary new parts and gaskets for engine reassembly are there. All stock components are there including the original catalytic exhaust, tires, wheels and chin fairing. The bike has been down one time on left side at slower speed in medium gravel. Gravel scuffing includes the left front fairing graphic stickers and light scuffing to the left front lower fork, front and rear turn signal lights. The tank has a ding (not thru the paint) that may have happened in the gravel, but I can't say for certain. The frame paint is very good. The tank is about 1/3 filled with fuel and a flush type treatment should be planned. Overall, a nice complete low mileage RZ350 that has been safely parked for 29 years and has an engine with a race spec crankshaft. Please look at all the pictures because they are part of the description and a good indicator of condition. The bike has a clear CA title and is currently CA registered as non-operational status. A Different Bike Magazine
Thu, 12 Feb 2009Motorcycle Retro is a pet project of former Motorcyclist editor Mitch Boehm, launching as Motorcyclist Retro in early 2008 under the Source Interlink media umbrella. It featured a contemporary look at motorcycles of the 1960s through the 1980s. However, the circulation numbers of MR didn’t meet the expectations of the media conglomerate, and they cancelled production of the magazine after just two issues.

Yamaha Focusing on Developing Model Platforms
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Following the success of its MT platform, Yamaha says it will continue to develop new models based on shared platforms, allowing for a choice of multiple models while reducing overall costs. Speaking in a presentation on the company’s business operation, Yamaha Motor President Hiroyuki Yanagi reiterated the strategy of developing multiple models sharing the same engine and frame. Honda has followed a similar strategy with its NC models, seeing the platform evolve to include the CTX700 and NM4.
