Yamaha RT description

Here i am proud to present to you a super nice mostly all original vintage 2 stroke dirt and trail bike. I owned this bike about 12 years ago myself when i used to find and restore and collect vintage dirt and street bikes of all sorts. I sold to my moms boyfriend who is older retired gent who loves bikes and wanted to put around trails with it. He did so a few times then just let her sit in shop and polished her up til i got it back on a trade deal we did, well i have enough other toys to deal with so decided to pass it own. These were only made a few years and were a great snappy 180cc 2 stroke oil injected with a 6 speed transmission. Not a total screamer like a moto cross bike but very peppy and can still putt around trails without going nuts all the time ! As you can see it is in awesome condition for the year and please check out video below of it running etc. The chrome on wheels is perfect, tank is beautiful, no dents, no rust inside...original seat is perfect, tires have great trad but do have some dry cracking around them from age. Matching numbers engine, disc front brake. I drained old gas from sitting and just cleaned carb just to insure she is ready to go and it usually starts in a kick or 2 and runs, shifts and stops excellent. He put some newer decals on it and new grips and handlebar pad, but other than that she is a super clean original vintage bike. I do not and never did have a title for this, not sure they even had them in these years... would make a great starter bike or just one to cruise around on for anyone. Nice and nimble and light only weighs like 210 lbs and rides nice. I put that it was a first year 1990 but vintage yamaha dealer i am friends with looked it up and said it could be a 1990 or a 1991 model and this one was made in Brazil which they said was pretty rare, so would be a good collector for sure as well. it does have matching numbers engine... I think that is about it, it has a few scuffs and knicks here and there from normal riding, other than that this is one of the cleanest Rt180's you will find ! please watch included video cause i like to show as much as possible so you know what you are getting. thanks and have real fair low reserve.. Bike is sold as is where is no warranties expressed nor implied and deposit made within 24 hrs through paypal only and then picked up and balance paid in cash only within 7 days please. No title but ebay makes you pick something.... bike is to be picked up in Middleburg, pa. snyder county within 7 days and balance paid in cash please.

The short but sweet life of the Yamaha R7

Tue, 17 Jan 2012

I was reunited with an old friend recently, my 1999 Virgin Yamaha R7 Superbike. By the end of 1998 I had won three straight BSB titles with the Yamaha YZF750, when main sponsor Cadbury’s pulled out leaving zero funds for a title defence. Wanting desperately to ride the new R7 and thinking a replacement backer would instantly get on board I turned down quite a few offers including a juicy contract from Crescent Suzuki (Paul Denning always enjoys reminding me).
