Nice original 1976 Yamaha RD400 up for grabs. This RD is in pretty good shape for its age. The original paint looks nice! The tank has a small nicks and is not perfect, but overall the body work still looks really good on this one! According to the previous owner, The bike was drained of fluids and put away sometime in the 1980's, where it sat until recently. The clutch feels good, and the bike shifts through all the gears. The motor kicks over with plenty of compression. Brakes do not currently work, will need fluid added. Would suggest a full tune up before attempting to start the bike, and it would be best to make sure there is adequate oil and in the motor. The chrome is in excellent shape, and seat is in good shape as well. **One thing I did notice was that the steering stem bearings are shot and will need to be replaced. The bike has a clean and clear title ready to transfer. I have the turn signal that is not pictured as well. Please examine pictures closely! Overall , this is a nice original bike that shouldn't take much at all to get going down the road. Bike can be stored for up to 30 days after sale. $500 Deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours. 2013 Dakar Rally Route Announced

Now in its fifth year in Latin America, the 2013 edition of the Rally will feature a new route running from north to south, starting Jan. 5 in Lima, Peru, and ending Jan.
Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?
Tue, 30 Dec 2008A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.
