Yamaha Other description

This is a nice running and riding TW.  New battery, runs great, doesn't burn oil, everything works, tires and chain & sprockets are fine.  Check pictures.  The bike is not like new, but is nice, and is not priced like new! ($4590 MSRP for the same bike, in blue!  )

If you do not know TW's, please check Yamaha's website to view the 2014 model, identical to this bike, other than color.

TW's will go anywhere, have electric start, very low seat height.  This TW is stock, other than a little preload added to the fork springs and a one tooth larger front sprocket.  The extra tooth makes the bike cruise 55 or 60MPH backroads much more comfortably than stock, but 1st gear will still idle along at walking speed.  Top speed is an indicated 73ish, flat on the tank.  ('Doesn't seem nice to do that to the little bike, though)

Cosmetically, the sides of the tank are not real shinny, due to dirty pants contact.  The decal, on the right side of the tank, has a couple of chips (zoom the picture to see).  The tank has no dents, though.  The other plastic, and the engine cases do show some scuffs and normal wear, with no tears or breaks.  This bike has been used as a true dual sport, both on and off the road.

I have owned this bike since 2007, and bought it from the original owner.  It had 488 miles, when I bought it, and 2535 miles now.  I've checked the valves once, and change the oil and cleaned the air filter every spring.  With very low yearly mileage, nothing else was needed.

Clear, KY title, in my name.  If you win this auction, and live in Ky, we go to the courthouse, together, to transfer (you will need proof of insurance).  If you live out of state, you pick up, with a signed title in hand, and I keep the plate.

$200 paypal deposit required within 48 hours of auction close.  Balance in cash, or cashiers check on pickup.

Thanks for looking!

On Oct-12-13 at 12:43:42 PDT, seller added the following information:

The bike includes the original owners manual, both keys, and the original tool kit.

Several have asked about delivery.  I will meet you up to 100 miles from Winchester, Ky for $1.00 per mile (MapQuest).  It'll be hauled out of the weather, in my van.  This will happen on my schedule, though, so it may be a week, or so, and only on weekends.

Yamaha Trademarks Design for Three-Cylinder Sport-Tourer

Mon, 11 Aug 2014

Yamaha has registered a trademark for the design of a sport-touring model based on the FZ-09. Filed with European Union’s Office for Harminization in the Internal Market, the trademarked design reveals a brand new model sharing the same frame and engine as the FZ-09 (known in Europe as the MT-09.) Discuss this at our Yamaha FZ-09 Forum. The new model will likely be compete against motorcycles such as the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and a rumored S1000RR-based model from BMW.

One man who didn't want to be watching the Sachsenring MotoGP

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Jorge Lorenzo posted this picture on his Twitter feed on Sunday. Yamaha's No.1 rider had to watch Sunday's MotoGP from his apartment. Despite Crutchlow reckoning Sunday's race result would have been the same even with Pedrosa and Lorenzo on the grid, I reckon Lorenzo would have had something to say about that.
