Yamaha Other description

You are looking at my 1989 Yamaha FZR400 California EXUP model.  I am the original owner and the bike is in amazing condition both cosmetically and mechanically.  I have a complete file on the bike that includes the original receipt from when I bought the bike from Golden Gate Cycles in SF in July 1989.  I spent over $4,000 this summer to have the bike mechanically reconditioned by Speed Motorcycles in Bronx, NY and it runs well.  The only problem is a sticky front master brake cylinder.  I had it rebuilt by Speed but it might need replacing.  I'm selling the bike because I've lost interest - when I had it reconditioned this summer I thought I was going to get back into riding but it turns out that I'm just not that into it anymore.  I never tracked this bike - I did put an aftermarket Kerker slip-on muffler on it and had it dyno tuned but I have the original exhaust.

The motorcycle is located on Long Island, NY.  Once paid for, I am happy to meet you for pickup.  I cannot ship the bike but I'm happy to meet your shipping company at the bike's location.  I will include whatever extra parts that I have such as oil, filters, nuts and bolts, Pit Bull stands, etc.  It also has new tires and battery.

This bike is very rare and I'd be very surprised if there are any out there in this condition and still owned by the original owner.

Feel free to email with questions.  Thanks for looking.

Yamaha Officially Announces Monster Energy Sponsorship

Tue, 08 Jan 2013

As we reported in December, energy drink producer Monster Energy has signed a sponsorship agreement with Yamaha‘s factory MotoGP program, putting its brand on the Yamaha YZR-M1 race bikes, team clothing and equipment, as well as riders Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi. Monster Energy already had a personal sponsorship deal with Rossi but the company will now also sponsor Lorenzo. The reigning MotoGP Champion had previously had a sponsorship arrangement with rival energy drink company RockStar, but Yamaha exercised a clause in its contract with Lorenzo allowing a buy out of the RockStar deal as it conflicts with the team’s sponsor.

Community Tip: How-to Completely Remove the Air Induction System on a Yamaha

Fri, 22 May 2009

Alright, maybe this isn’t for everyone, but I thought it was obscure enough to warrant some interest to any motorcyclist. TEZZMIN, a senior member over at the R6MessageNet forums, has posted a nice How-To on removing an ’03-’04 Yamaha R6 ‘s Air Induction System. What does the AIS do?
