Yamaha Other description

1976 Yamaha RD400C 2 two stroke all original, 1 owner, low mileage motorcycle.  I am offering this with a very modest "buy it now" and reserve.  The bike was bid up to $3050 last auction but did not meet reserve. Turn key ready to ride. This is the early 76 model with red rear lenses and the unique instrument lights and cluster.

Purchased at estate sale in Indiana this Spring. Original owner was a Purdue Professor that bought the bike new in California in 76. I have the original sales receipt showing mileage, date, and his name from the dealership. Original paint, exhaust, seat, I believe tires, and grips. Engine number matches frame vin as shown.

I brought the bike home, aired the tires, put fresh gas and oil in it, a new battery, and it started on the third kick. The motorcycle runs very strong with transmission and clutch working as new. Brakes work great, all electrical in working order. A joy to ride and very quick.

I have pictured all of the defects I noticed. The pictures actually make the bike look much worse than it is. I wanted the high bidder to know exactly what they are getting. It shows very well. The ding in the tank is the worst of it. I have no doubt a competent body man could fix it. It could sure use a thorough cleaning and show polish. I left all the parking decals and license plate intact to preserve the history. Has no tool kit or battery strap, and will need new fork dust covers. New reproduction grips included in sale.

Clear Indiana title in my name and in my possession. I will also provide a bill of sale for easy registration. I am the second owner of record and have driven it approximately 6 miles. Original owner, Charles Bracker, owned it for 37 years and all of the 4439 miles. I will provide clear and clean title in my name, as well as bill of sale. I will prepare for export, or motor freight, by draining gas and unhooking battery. Pick-up will be from my residence only. I can help deliver for $2.00 a loaded mile within 200 miles. Payment to be made, in full, before I load it.

Check my 100% rating and satisfied motorcycle customers throughout the world. Thank you.

I have a photo of the original sales receipt, owners manual, extra keys, vintage Yamaha keychain, and replacement grips.  Ebay will not let me add the photo to the auction at this time.  Please email me for this photo if you are interested.  Thank you.

2014 World Supersport – Phillip Island Results

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

The 2014 World Supersport season opened in dramatic fashion after a red-flagged restart turned the 18-lap race into a five-lap sprint, with MV Agusta making a triumphant return to the top of the podium for the first time since 1976. The Supersport event began with a hard-fought battle between three-time champion Kenan Sofuoglu, Kev Coghlan and Michael van der Mark. Sofuoglu and his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R held a slim lead over Coghlan’s Yamaha R6 and van der Mark’s Honda CBR600RR when the race was halted after CIA Insurance Honda rider Jack Kennedy suffered an engine problem and leaked oil onto the track.

Scott Russell Returning To Yamaha Champions Riding School Next Week

Wed, 10 Sep 2014

This just in from the Yamaha Champions Riding School: the Champ is back! As many of you know, Scott fell off a dirtbike and tumbled around long enough to hurt himself back in July. But he just called and drawled, “I’ll be back for the school as soon as I’m able to ride…let’s fill it up and have some fun!”  With the final round of the AMA SuperBike series coming to New Jersey Motorsports Park this weekend, it’s a perfect time for Mr.
