Selling my 2015 Yamaha FZ-09 in matte grey. It's been a fun bike but not quite what I was looking for so time to move on. Local pickup only.
Basic info: - 13,246 miles - Clean title in hand - Registered through Dec 2017 - Never crashed Maintenance: - Spark plugs replaced around 9,000 mi. - Tires replaced around 9,000 mi. and still have a lot of life left (Pirelli Supercorsa SP V2) - Oil and oil filter changed at 11,807 mi. - Brakes bled at 11,807 mi. - Chain and sprockets replaced at 12,726 mi. Mods: - ECU flashed by Ivan's Performance Products to eliminate jerky throttle and remove speed limiters - Bar end sliders - Techspec tank grips Included if desired: - Stock bar ends - Stock front fork reflectors - Cell phone mount - Dark aftermarket windscreen. Came with the bike when I bought it but I didn't use it. There's a chunk missing from it but it still works. - PDF of the service manual |

45,367 Motorcycle Thefts Reported in US in 2013
Tue, 10 Jun 2014Americans reported 45,367 stolen motorcycles in 2013, down 1.5% from 2012, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau‘s latest Motorcycle Theft and Recovery Report. According to the NICB motorcycle thefts have been on the decline every year since 2007 when 65,678 motorcycles were reported stolen, though the overall trend appears to be leveling off. Japanese motorcycles continue to be the most popular target for thieves.
Yamaha Trademarks Design for Three-Cylinder Sport-Tourer
Mon, 11 Aug 2014Yamaha has registered a trademark for the design of a sport-touring model based on the FZ-09. Filed with European Union’s Office for Harminization in the Internal Market, the trademarked design reveals a brand new model sharing the same frame and engine as the FZ-09 (known in Europe as the MT-09.) Discuss this at our Yamaha FZ-09 Forum. The new model will likely be compete against motorcycles such as the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and a rumored S1000RR-based model from BMW.
