Yamaha FJ-09 description
The new Yamaha FJ-09 model displays an 847cc liquid-cooled Triple engine and comes together with a crossplane concept crankshaft for torque. The twin-spar aluminum chassis was also borrowed from the FZ, however the ‘J’ designation adds a giant (and three-way adjustable, without tools) windscreen and hard guards, as well as a broader rider and passenger seat. The Yamaha FJ-09 allows the rider to modify the position of the handlebar (forward and backward by 10mm), as well as seat height (15mm). A center stand was installed to ease routine maintenance. On the scales the FJ is claimed to weigh 462 pounds—a 48 pound increased compared to the naked version.
