Yamaha AT2 description

This posting is for my 1972 Yamaha AT2 motorcycle. I bought this bike a while ago and planned on getting her fit to ride on the roads and some small trails. I just don't have the time right now.

The motorcycle currently runs great... at idle. Any throttle given to it will kill it. So it will need some tuning. The carb on it is brand new, but it is fitted with an aftermarket pod filter setup. Also, a starter button will need to be wired up. Kick starting is the only way at the moment.

The wiring on this motorcycle is mostly complete, but the horn circuit needs some work, and the tail light needs to be connected. Also, the dash lights need to be hooked up correctly.

The front brake needs pads and possibly a new cable. The back brake works perfectly. Speaking of cables, a new Tachometer cable will be needed.

A previous owner had repainted the bike. It looks decent, but as you can see in the pictures, there are some chips and imperfections here and there.

These are sweet, rare little bikes. The two stroke engine automatically injects oil into the cylinder to mix with the gas. The oil pump is working, but needs to be bled.

The bike has trouble shifting. It seems to be the shift linkage. That will need to be inspected. New carb, new tail light, new fuel and oil lines, new plugs, new ignition coil, new battery, new throttle and cable.
This is a project bike, but it will take very little money and effort to get it going, especially if you just want it as a trail bike.
Do not be afraid to make me offers, the price is just a starting point.
If you have any questions at all, just ask. I want you to be happy with your purchase.
No title is available with the motorcycle. A bill of sale can be supplied if you desire.
Shipping or pickup is completely up to the buyer. I can help load the motorcycle. Please make arrangements to get the bike within a week, or I reserve the right to keep the deposit and relist the motorcycle.

Yamaha continues to expand its MT lineup (or FZ lineup for us North Americans) with a new stunt rider variant on the MT-07. Making its public debut tomorrow at the Intermot show in Cologne, the 2015 Yamaha MT-07 Moto Cage will likely be an exclusive model for the European market like the Street Rally and Sport Tracker variants of the MT-09. Polish rider Rafal “Stunter13″ Pasierbek has signed on to be Yamaha’s official stunt rider, performing at shows and competitions on the MT-07 Moto Cage.

One man who didn't want to be watching the Sachsenring MotoGP

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Jorge Lorenzo posted this picture on his Twitter feed on Sunday. Yamaha's No.1 rider had to watch Sunday's MotoGP from his apartment. Despite Crutchlow reckoning Sunday's race result would have been the same even with Pedrosa and Lorenzo on the grid, I reckon Lorenzo would have had something to say about that.
