OFFERING A VINTAGE VINCENT SORRENTO STERLING SILVER AND SMOKEY QUARTZ NECKLACE AND SCREW BACK EARRING SET WITH A JEWELRY BOX THIS LOVELY SET HAS BEEN IN MY MOTHER'S JEWELRY COLLECTION FOR MANY YEARS BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN HER WEARING IT. THE PENDANT PORTION OF THE NECKLACE AND THE EARRINGS FEATURE GEM CUT SMOKEY QUARTZ SETTINGS IN STERLING SILVER MOUNTINGS. THE MAKER'S MARKS ARE HARD TO READ IN MY PICTURES BECAUSE THEY ARE SO SMALL BUT ALL ARE STAMPED "SORRENTO" AND "STERLING". THE PENDANT GEM IS APPROXIMATELY 5/8 INCH X 1/2 INCH. THE FINELY WOVEN SILVER CHAIN TO THE NECKLACE IS 16 INCHES LONG WITH A SECURITY CLASP. THE EARRINGS HAVE SCREW BACKS AND ARE ALSO OF STERLING SILVER CONSTRUCTION. THE SET COMES IN A NEW JEWELRY BOX AS THE ORIGINAL BOX WAS DAMAGED WHILE IN STORAGE. Record Breaking Vincent Black Shadow Is Top Seller At Bonhams Auction
Mon, 29 Apr 2013A fully restored, ex-works 1952 Vincent Black Shadow was the top selling motorcycle at the Bonhams auction, held at the International Classic Motorcycle Show at the Staffordshire County Showground on Sunday, April 28, selling for £113,500 (US $176,341 after premiums). This Black Shadow was part of the factory’s bid to set a new 24-hour speed record at Montlhéry in France in May 1952. Mechanical troubles prevented that from happening, but the team still came away with eight records, including six hours at over 100 mph.

Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track, Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.
