Triumph Tiger description

Up for grabs...1971 Triumph Tiger TR6R 650. This is a good running bike, just serviced, in nice cosmetic shape. It is fitted with a UK-style tank (newer paint on the fenders and tank), some old-school TR mufflers, and a new seat. Engine and frame numbers do match, all lights work, small tool kit is included. Mileage reads just over 6,600 and is believed to be original. Bike smokes a little from the right hand side - not mosquito fogger bad, but there's a little puff when getting on the throttle (probably rings as this bike has sat most of its life). Starts and runs fine despite this. This would be a great basis for a custom build if you're looking for a cool vintage, right-side shift Triumph. With all the new motorcycles Triumph presented earlier this month at the 2013 EICMA show in Milan, Italy, we were hoping to see the company’s new 250cc models. Unfortunately, the new small-displacement Triumph models (which made our list of Top 10 Motorcycles to Watch For at EICMA) were not yet ready to be revealed, though Triumph did offer us a glimpse of what to expect, with a sketch of its 250 sportbike. At Milan, the company referred to the sportbike as “Triumph’s New 250″, though it will get a proper name when it’s officially, presented as a 2015 model, likely at next year’s EICMA show or at Intermot in Cologne, Germany.

This beautifully shot short film alludes to a phrase by Robert M Pirsig, the author of Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance: "If the machine produces tranquility it's right. If it disturbs you it's wrong until either the machine or your mind is changed". But is any Triumph single ever capable of producing a sensation of tranquility, even when it is 'right'? I suspect not...
