Triumph Tiger description

GREAT CLASSIC BIKE
      1966 TRIUMPH TR6R     TIGER
  • 1966 Triumph TR6R
This listing is for a very well restored Triumph TR6R.  Many enthusiasts agree that 1966 through 1970 were the finest years for Triumph....and for good reason.  The motorcycles featured classic styling, strong performance and outstanding (for their time) handling characteristics.  During these years, the British manufacturer listened to their U.S. dealers and produced outstanding color schemes.  This 1966 is no exception.  It’s a beautiful example in Pacific Blue and White.  This motorcycle has been completely restored to pristine (and accurate) condition by Roger Jones of Georgia.  His fine workmanship is evident in the attached pictures.  The motorcycle has been mechanically rebuilt to original specifications.  The best parts available were used to ensure a great result.  The motorcycle was rebuilt, started and thoroughly checked out. The fuel was ran through a reserve, and not this tank. When everything was just right, it was retired to my personal collection.  There it has been on display in a climate controlled environment.  So, you are bidding on a great example of a classic Triumph motorcycle.  One that has been restored to as close to perfection as possible.  It’s in outstanding mechanical condition and the pictures certainly show the quality of the finish work.  It’s being sold with a clear title.....and a very reasonable price of $13,199 or Best Offer.  Don’t think you will find a better example of the 1966 TR6R and certainly couldn’t have one restored to this level of excellence for this price.

Watch: 2011 Speed Triple Dyno run

Tue, 05 Apr 2011

With the full factory fitted arrow system and map fitted it was time to give the Speed a run on a Dyno to see where the power is at. Over two runs the best results were as follows; Power at the crank : 130bhp & 75 ft.lbs torque Power at the gearbox : 124bhp & 72 ft.lbs torque Power at the wheel : 119bhp & 69 ft.lbs torque The bike has covered 4200 miles and is due its first proper service at 6000 so you would expect to see a reduction in power. Triumph claim on a brand new bike the Speed Triple at best puts out 135bhp and 82 ft.lbs torque at the crank with the cans fitted, effectively mine has lost 5bhp and 7ft.lbs of torque.

EICMA 2013: 2014 Triumph America LT

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Just as it did with its Thunderbird family, Triumph revealed a new bagger to its America cruiser line at the 2013 EICMA show. Follow the rest of our 2013 EICMA show coverage Originally revealed in CARB documents as the America Horizon, the Triumph America LT adds a deattachable windscreen, pillion backrest and leather saddlebags to turn the midsized America into a serviceable light tourer.  The America LT is powered by the same air-cooled 865cc parallel-Twin with a 270-degree firing interval as the regular America and the Speedmaster cruisers. Performance numbers are the same, with Triumph claiming 60 hp at 6800 rpm and 53 ft-lb.
