Triumph Thunderbird description

2000 Triumph Thunderbird SPORT, Must sell my beloved Triumph to finance a new project. Clear title in hand. She is a 2000 Triumph Thunderbird Sport with about 17k miles. Garage kept, adult owned. Since I bought it I have replaced carb boots and headlight mount boots which were degrading when I bought it, flushed cooling system, checked valve clearances (some are tight but not enough to adjust without possibly making them too loose) and changed changed the fork oil. Front end has also been lowered about 20mm. Handles very well. Oil changes done at regular intervals with Triumph filters and OEM oil (Mobile 1 4T). Clutch and brake fluid were flushed about 1000 miles ago, also. Tires have around 1k miles on them, new chain and sprockets with less than 500 miles. Just put in new NGK plugs two weeks ago. All chrome has been powder coated satin black to match the frame. Giant, factory george jetson looking tail light replaced with smaller NoSchool Choppers 32 ford reproduction tail light also powder coated satin black. Has Triumph factory sport fairing installed. Bike has K&N pod filters (installed by previous owner) and is seat-of-the-pants tuned. Runs good but could be sharper with better tune. Regularly get mid-high 30's in mpg. Included with sale: Two keys. One factory, one copy. Factory air box with K&N air filter (would put this back on if I was keeping it. Easier to tune carbs/ will run better) Factory mirrors Factory tail light Extra rocker cover gasket Can be easily returned to factory livery for purist owner. All documents received from previous owner and anything that I have bought since then $4,200.00 2392973530

The Triple's ready, three days early!

Wed, 24 Mar 2010

Mark Forsyth returned our Bonneville long termer today, and the Speed Triple was ready at the triumph factory to be brought back with him…three days early. Here’s a picture of it ‘wedged’ in the back of our new Ford Wildtrak. The bad news is, it won’t arrive at our London office until Friday, patience Andy, patience.

Steve McQueen’s Von Dutch Customized Bikes to be Auctioned Tomorrow

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Here’s an opportunity to own motorcycles associated with Steve McQueen and Von Dutch - need we say more? Get your credit cards out because tomorrow, January 9, 2014, will see a 1923 Indian Big Chief with Princess Sidecar owned by McQueen and fully restored by Von Dutch put on the auction block at the Bonhams Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction. Previously sold at the Steve McQueen Estate Sale in Las Vegas in 1984, the 74cu (1200cc) Indian is “capable of reaching speeds of 90mph.” If McQueen’s coolness factor isn’t enough, having the notoriety of Von Dutch’s restoration is the icing on the cake.

Looking after number 1

Fri, 06 Jan 2012

There was a time when a rider’s number indicated his position from the previous season, with the ultimate accolade being the number 1 emblazoned on the front of the champion's bike. The rise of branding in MotoGP and a rider wanting to market themselves, born from Barry Sheene and his retention of no.7, saw riders decide against displaying their finish from the year before. Rossi, who on winning his numerous championships, stuck with his famous #46 in defence of his titles, instead of stamping a great number 1 on his bikes.
