Triumph Sprint description
This Triumph Sprint ST w/ ABS only has 24,707 miles on the clock, and only has a couple of modifications: Trident / TOR exhaust http://www.trident-exhausts.co.uk/page-silencers_sprint-st-1050.php This exhaust system is generally accepted as the best aftermarket exhaust for this bike, and in this case, it was dealer installed at purchase by the previous owner On 3/6/15, I installed a new K&N Air Filter, and also installed a Power Commander III. This was done at Jupiter Cycle Racing http://www.jupitercycle.com/ They also tuned the bike on their Dyno (please see attached printout of the runs), and it now makes almost 119 HP and 75 of torque, measured AT the rear wheel. On that shop visit, the fuel tank was removed & drained, fuel pump serviced, and a new fuel level sender installed (expensive!). The spark plugs were also replaced. On 10/15/15, I replaced the Rectifier which had gone bad. The fork was removed, disassembled and new seals & bushings put in, along with new fork oil and a new front tire. The rear brake had the pads replaced and brake fluid flushed on 8/28/14. It has the tail removal kit, with aftermarket lights. I may have the original tail/fender guard. I also have the original exhaust tips. The rear fender and chain guard were replaced with faux carbon fiber ones. I’m leaving the Ram Ball mount installed for the new owner to attach whatever device they want (GPS, phone, etc.). If you don’t want it, the original hex screw is in the “glovebox”. I only use Pirelli Angel GTs on this bike. The front is new, the rear has maybe 1,000 miles left, probably less if ridden aggressively. I have all the service receipts, manual, two sets of keys and original toolkit. Negatives: · As you can be seen from the close-ups, the left
side of the seat has a small tear, and the right side has a tiny one. I
lost one of the blue infill panel from one of the panniers and have already
ordered another one. · The crease on the left side tail has some scratches on it. · Small chip on left front of fuel tank near the
triple tree. · Some scratches on bottom of left fairing
penetrating paint depth. · Some minor scratches on bottom of right fairing
that did not penetrate paint depth. · Pitting of the transparent portion of the
windshield (that part can be replaced). · Chain is on the loose side, have not wanted to
adjust it myself, although I just cleaned & lubed it. The bike has very low mileage, and is in amazing condition for being 10 years old. The motor is perfect (has a lot of grunt) along with clutch & transmission. Because of the minor cosmetic negatives and my need to pay for my new bike, I’m a motivated seller, offering this bike at below market prices. Title in hand! |

Recall for 2010 Triumph Thunderbird
Mon, 16 May 2011Triumph Motorcycles is starting a recall campaign on certain 2010 Thunderbird cruisers due to a problem with the front fender fasteners. On certain 2010 Triumph Thunderbirds, including some ABS-equipped units, the four screws on the front fender mounts may come loose. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the plating used on the fender mounting included friction modifiers which are not compatible with the thread lock compound used on the screws.

A thing of beauty?
Mon, 29 Mar 2010The weather was pretty good over the weekend and I managed to get 500 miles in and become better acquainted with the Speed Triple. I’m still running it in but as it’s reputation suggest the bike doesn’t disappoint. There are some noticeable differences over most other naked bikes I’ve ridden, you could call them quirks, but i'll talk about those in a week or so.
