A very clean, low miles, well maintained bike with no modifications. Even the little "nubs" are still on the factory tires. Adult owned, adult ridden.
I am the original owner and purchased the bike right off of the showroom floor in late 2012. It's been stored indoors and never been dropped. I was personally drawn by it's classic Triumph "Cafe' Racer" style and it receives positive attention almost every place I ride it. Very smooth running and responsive. The bike is available for buyer's pick-up in the Syracuse, NY area. The location is about ten minutes from I-81, I-481 and I-90 (NYS Thruway). If you are not going to pick it up personally, I can work with your shipper. I can keep the bike stored indoors for a reasonable period of time to await shipping arrangements, if necessary. The reserve price is not "dreamer" high, Very realistic, and certainly lower than the current book value on it, so don't be shy about bidding. The $500. Get your credit cards out because tomorrow, January 9, 2014, will see a 1923 Indian Big Chief with Princess Sidecar owned by McQueen and fully restored by Von Dutch put on the auction block at the Bonhams Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction. Previously sold at the Steve McQueen Estate Sale in Las Vegas in 1984, the 74cu (1200cc) Indian is “capable of reaching speeds of 90mph.” If McQueen’s coolness factor isn’t enough, having the notoriety of Von Dutch’s restoration is the icing on the cake.
Third Annual ‘The MEET’ at ACM
Tue, 26 Aug 2014More than 2,000 attendees visited America’s Car Museum for its 3rd annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival ‘The MEET’ last weekend in Tacoma, Washington, where over 300 motorcycles and scooters were showcased on the Haub Family Field at LeMay. The event drew pre-1981 motorcycles and scooters from the U.S. and Canada, including an antique motorcycle display, swap meet, cruise-in and a 78-mile roundtrip tour from ACM’s Anderson Plaza to Mt. Rainier.
