And a few models such as Honda’s NC700S and X, Kawasaki’s Versys 1000 and CRP’s Energica were unveiled without heavy prior fanfare, but gasps of surprise weren’t heard when the wraps were taken off Triumph’s Tiger 1200 Explorer, Husqvarna’s Nuda or MV Augusta’s F3 675 among others, whose existences were revealed months in advance of the show. 2012-2013 Triumph Street Triple and Daytona 675 Hit with Nissin ABS Recall

A manufacturing error by brake manufacturer Nissin has claimed another motorcycle maker. Triumph  is recalling the 2012-2013 Street Triple, Street Triple R, Daytona 675 and Daytona 675R because of the problem with the Nissin-supplied anti-lock brake modulator. The issue has already resulted in recalls for the 2014 Honda CTX700 and CTX700N, the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 (and the Ninja 250 offered in Asian markets) and the 2013 Suzuki Hayabusa.

AMA to Combine Daytona Sportbike and Supersport Classes in 2015

AMA Pro Racing announced plans to combine its Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes into a single category by the 2015 season. The two classes currently share many similarities including engine displacement regulations, minimum weight limits and eligible machines. The Supersport class has more restrictions on modifications and are limited to a maximum top speed of 165 mph while Daytona Sportbike machines are allowed to reach speeds up to 170 mph.
