Triumph Bonneville description

This is a chopper project bike (non-matching numbers and NO title - sorry). EBAY forces you to make title selection - there is NO title !!

Frame is a '69 Bonneville pre-OIF (GC 21700 T120R). Steering lock lug has been removed to accomodate custom front end.

Steering rake has not been changed. Stock front tank mounting bracket has been removed otherwise frame is stock - side stand lug is perfect.

Not sure what is under the bondo molding !

Motor comes from a '72 Bonneville OIF (T120R AG 45495). This would be a 4-speed trans. Has matching belly numbers

I do not think bottom end has ever been apart. Head has been taken off and valves removed (but I have them).

Castings are super original (no chain breaks, no broken fins). Looks to be a low mileage motor.

Turns over but there is surface rust at top of bores. Pistons are stock size. Carbs original Amal concentrics.

Hard tail is bolt-on and has very unique sprung rear wheel arrangement - not seen another like it - see photos.

Rear wheel is a Triumph conical hub with stock 18" rim and original 'made in England' tire :)

Front wheel is 21" rim with small hub - it does contain a small drum but no brake shoes or axle with it.

Some other parts: foot pegs and engine mounting plates, side stand, MITYMAX ignition, small/broken headlamp and a few bolts.

Pick up only from Brighton MI on this item.

May separate frame an motor if there is enough interest, but would make an excellent winter project to get running for next spring.

Email with any questions.

Small-Displacement Class Considered for 2015 AMA Pro Racing Season

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.

Isle of Man TT 2014: Monster Supersport TT 1 Results

Mon, 02 Jun 2014

Gary Johnson narrowly beat out Bruce Anstey to take the first of two Supersport races at the 2014 Isle of Man TT. Riding the Daytona 675, Johnson’s win was the first for Triumph since 2003, ironically, with Anstey taking the victory that year in the Junior 600cc class. The race started three hours behind schedule due to fog, but once it began it quickly became a duel between Johnson and Anstey.

2012-2013 Triumph Speed Triple Transmission Recall Now Includes US

Fri, 31 May 2013

As we expected, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall for the 2012-2013 Triumph Speed Triple because the transmission may have been built with the wrong detent arm spring. A similar recall was announced for Canada earlier this month, so we knew it was a matter of time before the recall was announced for the U.S. market.
