Triumph Turn Signal Recall Affects 3,799 Motorcycles in US

A recall initially announced in Canada for turn signal stems on certain 2012-2013 Triumph motorcycles has now been announced for the U.S., affecting 3,799 units. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall affects the Triumph Tiger 800, Tiger 800XC, Tiger 1050, Speed Triple, Street Triple and Daytona 675,  as well as their various R versions. As described in the Transport Canada recall, the supports for the front and rear turn signals may be prone to fracturing.

Triumph’s new Thunderbird Commander and Thunderbird LT are being introduced to the world’s media this week in San Diego, California. The Commander sports a tougher image than the regular Thunderbird, boasting dual bug-eye headlights and a beefy 47mm Showa fork holding a fat 140/75-17 tire.

The sportbike is powered by a 765cc three-cylinder engine that first debuted on the naked Street Triple and then became the standard for the Moto2 racing class. The equipment will include an Öhlins NIX30 inverted fork and a rear TTX monoshock, Brembo Stylema braking system, TFT instrument panel, tilting ABS and a drive mode select system.
