2012 Triumph Bonneville Base

You might not realize the importance of this motorcycle from just a glance, but this is the model that all the others were based on. The 2012 Bonneville is a trail blazer in terms of performance since the 1950s. Since this motorcycle was introduced in 1959, it has gone through a few major revisions but has maintained a sweet 1970s-style and has continued to feature state-of-the-art performance.

Although the 2012 Triumph Bonneville looks authentic in parts, the modern day fuel injectors are hidden behind the facade of push-rods and carburetors. In keeping up with traditions of days past, the 1970s-style megaphone exhaust silencer adds the feel of tradition while giving it a quieter ride. The 2012 Bonneville is fitted with an 865cc, four-stroke, fuel injected, parallel twin dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) engine. You’ll get a spirited ride with 50 pounds of torque along with the 360 hp firing power. Any age and experience can enjoy this motorcycle with the lower seat, precision handling, and clean ride. Single hydraulic discs provide stopping power for both the front and rear brakes. A telescopic fork provides front suspension and steel twin sided swing arm is the base of the rear suspension the rear along with the dual adjustable spring pre-load shock absorbers.

With over 50 years of excellence behind the name it is easy to rely on the expertise used in making the 2012 Triumph Bonneville. The ease in handling will leave any rider able to take advantage of the power and style offered by this motorcycle. The Triumph Bonneville is the base model for the T100, T100 100th Anniversary Addition, SE, and the Steve McQueen SE models with good reason. Just like an amazing recipe you have to start with good ingredients and build from there. It is obvious that Triumph understands this and knew how to do the same thing.

Speed Triple exhausts

Mon, 19 Apr 2010

The Speed Triple sounds quite throaty with the standard pipes, on the overrun it pops and farts to its heart content but it could be louder. Also standard pipes are usually quite heavy, on the Triple they weigh 9.3kg!!! Triumphs preferred exhaust manufacture is Arrow and they offer side and under seat options as official Triumph accessories.

2012-2013 Triumph Speed Triple Transmission Recall Now Includes US

Fri, 31 May 2013

As we expected, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall for the 2012-2013 Triumph Speed Triple because the transmission may have been built with the wrong detent arm spring. A similar recall was announced for Canada earlier this month, so we knew it was a matter of time before the recall was announced for the U.S. market.
