Triumph Bonneville description

I have a 1965 Triumph Bonneville In decent 90% original condition. original 6 volt electrics. everything is working and in decent running condition. The mileage on odometer reads 17,377. and I believe this to be correct. The front fender is incorrect as is the taillight although it still has the lucas 564 lense. Fuel tank needed a good cleaning but is in great solid condition, as did the original 389/203 monobloc carbs. new 6n6 battery is a little small for battery box and has a custom hold down witch is pretty decent, new petcocks, and I put some new fork gaiters on to clean things up. seat should be gray top but  was replaced by previous owner and is in great condition and is correct for 67 thru 70 I do believe so could be sold or saved for that other project. No center stand unfortunately but are easily found right here on e-bay. Both spark plug holes have heli-coil or other thread inserts. Don't know who did that job .Tires are good. front K-70 made in great Britain with no dry rot and great tread rear is Kenda mirage g/t 4.25-18. in great shape also. chrome had some light surface rust but cleaned up nice but still shows some pitting, easily kept clean, not perfect. headlight shell is nice but very light pitting shows. looks like it popped a chain once came up through case, check picture.  starts right up with no chokes but spits through carbs a bit. runs  decent when warm and really cracks on when given the gas. drips a spot of oil the size of a quarter after riding it a couple miles.  Really hate to see this one go. Check out the pictures. Still needs some cleaning and sprucing but is a real good start on building that concourse 65. Clean Massachusetts title. Have some receipts for parts going back to 1987 or so from Hutchinson cycle. Ask any questions or For more info call 860-457-2018 Randy.   Shipping is sole responsibility of buyer. I will hold bike as long as it is paid for a reasonable amount of time for shipping arrangements, etc. and will help with loading. Payment can be made in cash in person, or bank check  this is a 50 year old motorcycle and is sold as is, where is with no warranties whatsoever

Steve McQueen’s Von Dutch Customized Bikes to be Auctioned Tomorrow

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Here’s an opportunity to own motorcycles associated with Steve McQueen and Von Dutch - need we say more? Get your credit cards out because tomorrow, January 9, 2014, will see a 1923 Indian Big Chief with Princess Sidecar owned by McQueen and fully restored by Von Dutch put on the auction block at the Bonhams Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction. Previously sold at the Steve McQueen Estate Sale in Las Vegas in 1984, the 74cu (1200cc) Indian is “capable of reaching speeds of 90mph.” If McQueen’s coolness factor isn’t enough, having the notoriety of Von Dutch’s restoration is the icing on the cake.

It was less than a month ago that Triumph’s 500,000th production motorcycle, a special Speed Triple with commemorative paint job, rolled off the line.
