Suzuki RM description

You are bidding on a vintage 1980 Suzuki PE175 off road competition enduro. This bike is pretty original, and in very good condition for it's age.I bought it from the nephew of the original owner, and over the years the title was misplaced,so there is NO title with the bike. These bikes were based on the RM series, but I believe they had a wide ratio tranny as opposed to the RM's close ratio.Either way,it runs pretty good, and would make a really nice woods bike or vintage competition enduro mount. Here are the details:

The bike fires up on the 3rd or 4th kick when cold, and on the first kick when warmed up.Runs through the gears with no issues, and revs strongly.Carb could probably use a rebuild, but it really does run well as it is.I replaced the tranny fluid, spark plug, air filter & fuel line.Currently running Bel Ray pre mix in the tank. The header pipe is original, but the silencer appears to be a replacement, but still mounted solidly.

The original front & rear fenders were replaced with new units from UFO,and the side panels are replacements from DC Plastics. The gas tank is original, but I replaced the missing decals, and the front number plate/headlight unit is also original, with a replacement decal. The headlight works great, but the original taillight is missing, but the original wiring is intact. The grips are replacements from Oury, and the clutch lever is also brand new.

Tire shave plenty of tread left on them, and the Akront rims are in great shape with no real dings or dents. The original aluminum swing arm is also in very good shape, and the front forks are also very nice with no pitting rust or corrosion.Brakes are not the best, but most bikes from that era were lacking in that department. The frame is nice & straight with no dents or mashed tubing,or evidence of previous repairs.Original paint is worn through in some areas, but I don't believe the bike was run hard or abused. The seat is still firm, with only a couple of 1/2" splits up front against the gas tank.

Overall a very nice vintage bike that has plenty of life left in it that would make a great woods bike, competition enduro,or just a fun playbike.

Who To Watch In AMA Pro SuperSport

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

America’s road racing champions of tomorrow are racing in AMA Pro SuperSport today, and their season kicks off this weekend at Daytona International Raceway. With events on both Friday and Saturday, there are plenty of chances for glory for the 48 competitors entered. AMA Pro SuperSport is the most unpredictable class and the racing gives a chance for riders in the large fields to step up and prove they have what it takes. A great example is reigning AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike Champion and current SuperBike pilot Cameron Beaubier, who cut his teeth in his two-victory, two-pole season in 2010.
