1977 SUZUKI RM 125   Excellent example of a beautiful vintage motocross bike. This bike is a partial restoration as it retains it's original frame paint, motor has new piston and rings, fluids all drained and storage oil has been put in motor and also soaked original chain in storage oil. Many original parts with NOS side covers, new Vintage Suzuki  fenders and seat cover.New tires front (vintage Goodyear) and back were installed. Many authentic in appearance decals including a serial number decal on the front of frame. The fuel tank is mint and the fork legs are like new. This motocross bike is a prize! Motocross lift stand is included. No warranty, no title and shipping is the responsibility of winning bidder/buyer. $300 deposit is due within 24 hours and the remaining balance due within three days. There was a time when Grand Prix racing was a lucrative affair, with the bikes and their riders resembling the fag packets that sponsored them. However, two unfortunate and costly blows hit the paddock; the banning of tobacco advertising in 2005 followed by the global economic crisis. The off-shoot saw grid numbers drastically dwindle with staple teams, like Kenny Roberts' outfit, and manufacturers, Kawasaki and Suzuki, succumbing to the events and disappearing.

Suzuki announced it will construct a new production facility in Gurgaon, India. The new facility, slated to open 2014, will produce models specifically for India, whose two-wheeled market scooped 13 million units in 2011 and likely more this year. Suzuki already has a facility in Gurgaon which opened in 2006, producing the Access and Swish scooters as well as the Sling Shot Plus and the GS150R (pictured above) motorcycles.

As I’ve been gagging for the new race season to kick off so it was almost a pleasure getting up at stupid 0 clock to watch the World Superbike Championship  opener at Phillip Island last weekend. I have to say Messrs Burnicle and Whitham were on form although I was disappointed there were none of the usual verbal attacks on each other that always add to the entertainment.    I’m sure they will put things right soon but the world superbike regulars must have been disheartened that Moto GP veterans nailed five of the six available rostrum slots.
