2013 AIMExpo: Suzuki Unveils GW250

Suzuki unveiled a new lightweight naked standard motorcycle at the 2013 American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) – the GW250. Powered by a 248cc liquid cooled in-line twin-cylinder engine, the GW250 would seem an ideal choice for newcomers not interested in sportbikes like the Honda CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 300. Editor-in-Chief Kevin Duke had a chance to ride the newest Suzuki and will be providing a review in the coming days.

Motocross racing legend Ricky Carmichael and 2XL Games are giving away a Suzuki RM-Z450 in a promotion for their new video game. The Suzuki RM-Z450 is the grand prize for the Ride Like A Pro Sweeps contest in support of the new “Ricky Carmichael’s Motocross Matchup Pro” game for iOS, Android and PCs. The game features Supercross and Motocross racing action against other players online.

Electric Motorcycle Conversion

Donald and Andrew Higginbotham, are a father and son team that converted a Suzuki RF900 into an electric motorcycle at their home over the course of three months worth of Saturdays. It ended up costing about $3,000 to complete with parts from Electric Motorsport. The bike gets about 35 miles per charge at a maximum speed of 55mph.
