Suzuki Boulevard tech info
Suzuki Boulevard description
2006 Suzuki Savage 650 aka The Thumper. Five speed. This motorcycle was my every-day ride in rainy Seattle. As a result, there are spots of rust on places like the chrome of the side mirrors, and a few spots where the paint on the body left metal exposed. There is also a dent in the gas tank from falling over (hit by a car trying to parallel park and the handlebars made the dent). Neighbors kept bumping into it parking, and broke both rear turn signals. I had repaired them with aluminum tape, but decided just to remove them and cut the wires so that an after-market can be added. I bought a car and the bike has not been regularly ridden for a couple of years. I have let the battery drain dead a few times. It needs a new battery and fresh gas and will start. Last time I started it the manual choke was acting up, but I ran fine when I ran it rich. It had been under a covered carport for the last 18 months. I have the title in hand. Needs new tabs. My commute is just too far and I love my little car, so I cannot justify keeping this bike. I also haven't repaired it, as I described above, despite my best intentions. I will be sad to see it go... |

Suzuki Reports Q3 2013-2014 Sales Results
Fri, 07 Feb 2014Suzuki reported a 13.1% decrease in motorcycle sales volume over the first three quarters of its 2013-2014 fiscal year, but still managed a 17.8% increase in net sales from its motorcycle division. That may seem like a paradox, but the results can be explained by a more favorable exchange rate for the Japanese yen and by looking closer at where those sales decreases took place. The yen has turned around significantly over the last year and a half, vastly improving how foreign sales affect Suzuki’s bottom line.
