Royal Enfield C5 Bullet description

For sale is my C5 Military. If you are already familiar with the Royal Enfield story, then skip to the photos. You already know this is a modern throwback that will bring you back to your Bonneville riding days.

This ride has the look and feel of the classic Brit Twins and Singles. Have a 'story' ready. People tend to assume it is a much older bike and I hate to disappoint. (Grins).

I bought this bike from a shop that knew enough to put at least 700 miles on it before handing the keys to a customer. I was looking for a classic bike that I could trust as a daily commuter and within my budget. This was that bike.

Mechanically the engine is reliable. The motor starts on the first or second kick. To be honest, I had not used the starter in such a long time that I did not realize that the battery was dead! I ordered a new one and will install it for the next owner.

I am selling because my current commute is not conducive to motorcycle riding. I live in Philadelphia now and lacking a garage I do not want to pay for storage, especially if I am not riding it on a regular basis.

Cool stuff

-Larger headlight w/ working 'pilot' light and can turn off
-Custom seat
-Shorter shocks
-Custom air intake (this frees up the storage box on the side)
-BSA Goldstar exhaust
-Header wrap
-mid-70's style Triumph turn signals
-bar end mirrors

"Made in India" issues: Yes, you will find yourself having to do a bit more upkeep than the typical 'new' bike. However, don't knock the fine folks of RE-India. They make a solid bike that's easy to work on with a loyal online following for parts and advice.

Rust: Some minor rust that I regularly sand and paint over. Also on the stems of the turn signals. There is rust on the mouth of the fuel tank. However, this has not caused any long term issues. I will try to take a clear photo and add it.

Selling as is with a clear TN Title. Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping. I am willing to drive 50 miles in any direction from Fort Dix, NJ to meet someone part way. I can also meet anyone interested locally at the Fort Dix or McGuire AFB visitor center. We're running out of warm days, but it is still nice enough weather for a short ride.

Three-Year-Old Motorcycle Prodigy?

Tue, 18 Aug 2009

Even though Tiger woods started paying golf at age two, this story of a three-year-old boy from New Delhi, India is probably just as impressive, maybe more.  Azeem Khan, photographed on the Royal Enfield Bullet above, has been granted a special license by judges in India allowing him to ride his motorcycle on side roads but is not allowed out on the main roads by himself. Khan’s father had to customize the bike so that the young boy could reach the controls and prove that he could handle the motorcycle on his own. I used to sit him on my bike and he would always grab at the controls.

Go camping with your bike

Keep your bike close to you when you go camping with the MOTOTENT from motorcycle adventurers Lone Rider. Priced at £450, here's a round-up of the features from Lone Rider: The MOTOTENT is spacious enough to shelter a dual sport bike as big a BMW R1200 GSA with all its luggage, to have room to work on it, and to be able to stand in the tent. The tunnel-shaped design allows a very quick setup of the tent when needed.
