Other Tourist description
I am the third owner of this Heinkel Tourist, quite rare in the US, maybe 150 may still be here, but the model is well represented in Europe and all parts are still available from the Heinkel Club. The previous owner purchased the scooter in 1967 or 1968 and rode it every once in a while until he was too old to ride it. The 7500 miles is original and the scooter runs and rides very nicely. It has a 4 stroke 175cc motor and 5 speed manual transmission. It comes with an original owner's manual and tool kit. The previous owner had it painted at some point...I do not know when, but it looks very good. This model is said to be the best scooter ever made (it was made in Germany by the Heinkel Aircraft Company). If anything, it is over-built in terms of strength and quality. If you are a fan of scooters, this is a head turner and ready to be enjoyed. The last one which was sold in the USA (which I know of)was not of this quality and was auctioned off for $7500. This one is better, but I would sell it for less than that. I am out of space for vintage motorcycles or I would keep it. It is located in Ephrata, Pennsylvania and I have sold many vintage motorcycles from my home (around 47), so shipping (at your cost) is very easy to arrange. Please note that the WW2 German Transportation Corps emblem and the "AMG" emblem are just taped on with double sided tape and I will remove these or maybe negotiate for the NSKK emblem if a buyer wants it...it is original. |
