This is a very original AJS 250 Stormer which is a very rear motorcycle that has a lot of the original parts including the back tire which is a Dunlop Sport. The fenders appear to be the original as the back fender had a dent that someone took out and did a pretty good job and the front has one small dent, the fuel line looks original not sure it will hold up to today's fuel. The fiberglass tank has been sealed and ready for today's fuel. The bike was in someone's house on display for many years when I bought it for my collection. When I got the bike everything was in great shape good compression, gears work, but no spark. When I pulled the ignition cover the problem was at some point it had appeared to be power washed and water was left in the cover. Over the years the stator and points where rusted and beyond repair. I replaced the points, stator, and flywheel with a new electronic system I got from an AJS parts supplier. The system gives great spark but there was a problem with the flywheel fit as it rubbed on the stator, so the company sent a new one to replace. I have not completed installing and will let the new owner finish the work as all the parts come with the bike. This bike even has the rubber cab on the carburetor that was put on from the factory so I assume the carb has never been opened or cleaned. I do believe everything on this bike is good shape and with the new electronic system this bike should start right up, although I am sure the seals may leak due to years of sitting. This is a very correct Stormer and would be a great additional to display or to finish and race, I am only selling this as I am down sizing my collection. This bike does not have a title and is bill of sale only, I also have a right to end this auction early.Thanks.
