Norton Other description

1972 Norton Commando, 31000 miles, I have a lot of repair orders for this bike that will go with it documenting upgrades over the years, such as new top end rebuild, new tires, tubes, wheels, clutch, seat, exhaust mufflers (Norton) etc. I just spent over $800 on having engine and trans removed and having all new isolastic mounts installed along with a new gel battery and new electronic ignition. Recent work was done by Bob Bancroft from Kinsman Ohio. Oil also changed, new plugs. Pipes are a 7 out of 10, back fender chrome is very dull, front fender is very shiny with one dull spot, tank needs repainted, one oil leak that is from the oiler for the chain, seems to be only drip. No rips in seat, dull Norton logo on back of seat. Wheels nice. Smith gages look nearly new and both work well, I believe I have a work order on those also. Headlight works Lot of mechanical repairs over the years documented. A good candidate for a cafĂ© project, or restoration or ride as is. I weigh 130 lbs and have a bad hip and can't kick start it so I have to use my bump starter so I can't really take it anywhere. Read the above defects and look at the pics if any questions email or call Tracy at 412 719 1617

The British company plans to produce 40 motorcycles of this model, most of which have already been prepaid. And only after the end of the story with Commando, the company will move on to the assembly of the V4 model, and then the two long-awaited Atlases. According to the company's management, the new model, Norton Atlas, currently still requires a number of final fine-tuning works before the start of mass production.

The Sporton: A Sportster-Powered Norton

Thu, 30 May 2013

The guys at BikeExif have found another subtle, yet wild custom cafe racer. This time it’s a Norton Featherbed frame stuffed with a 1969 Harley-Davidson Ironhead V-Twin. And if that’s not strange enough, this bike and its owner/builder hail from Malaysia!
