Norton Commando description

I bought this Norton a number of years ago and slowly rebuilt it at Norton specialist; for me...not for sale.
I'm selling the Norton due to medical problems that keep recurring: I'm 74 and it looks like my 'cycle days are behind me, after starting to ride when I was in high school.

All that is left is repainting. I figure you'd rather paint it the color you like.

This is what's been completed on the Norton:

New complete Fuel system

Steel gas tank steam cleaned, internally etched and internally glassed

New fuel petcocks and fuel lines

New air cleaners

New Mikuni Carbs-pair

Jetted by Mikuni distributor for 750 Norton

Mikuni manifolds for Norton

Mikuni floats adjusted for Norton

(Amal carbs can be sent also)

New hand grip and throttle mechanism, lever

New 1 into 2 throttle cable

Carbs synchronized

New Complete electrical system

New Lucas main wiring harness

New Lucas headlight wiring harness

Tri-Spark ignition system

New plugs

New plug wires

New battery

Dyya 12 volt coil

Tympanium voltage regulator

Keyed ignition switch

New left hand switch-gear (signals, headlights, horn)

New Headlight and tail light switches

New headlight and tail lights.

Rebuilt engine

New pistons and rings

Cylinders honed and resurfaced

Cylinders ceramic painted

Top end Gasket kit including annealed copper head

Black Diamond exhaust and intake valves

Heads resurfaced and cleaned

Valves hand lapped

Recut valve seats

Springs checked and found within specs

New bronze valve guides

Anti-drain oil valve (keeps oil from completely draining from the engine)

New head steady and mounts

Head steady and other engine mounting points correctly shimmed to reduce vibration             to the minimum

Installed oil filter system

Engine run in , then nuts re-torqued and valve settings re-checked

Oil and filter changed after engine run in

Tachometer & Speedometer

Checked and cleaned/rebuilt where needed-They work perfectly

New Tachometer and speedometer cables

Exhaust system

New gaskets

This exhaust system increases HP/Torque. We repeatedly removed or increased the number of plates and checked the condition of the spark plugs until we found the correct combination of plates that optimized the  color of the spark plugs.

Gear shifting & Transmission

Flushed and refilled with new gear oil

No adjustments or repairs needed to transmission; works and shifts as expected.

Barnett friction plates (5)

Norton 850 pressure plate

Barnett clutch cable

New hand grip and clutch lever

New gaskets and seals

Openings modified so they do not leak.

Chains cleaned and adjusted.

Suspension & Brakes

New oil in front suspension

No adjustments needed to suspension, suspension works well.

Front and rear brakes disassembled for inspection and adjusted.

Brakes work well.

Wheels & Tires

New Tires and tubes

Wheels balanced

Wheel roundness checked

I have receipts for all parts. They will be sent to new owner

Price William The Duke Of Ducs And Other Motorcycles

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, visited Britain’s largest motorcycle show, Motorcycle Live, at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham. The visit saw the Duke astride numerous motorcycle models including UK icons Norton and Triumph as well as a Ducati 1199 Superleggera (one of the few men able to afford the $70,000 rarity). During his visit Prince William enjoyed a display of off-road riding – one of nine opportunities for visitors to ride at Motorcycle Live, eight of which are inside the halls of the NEC. He also met Dean Linehan, exhibitions director of MCI Exhibitions, the company that organizes the annual motorcycle exhibition.
