Norton Commaando description

If you have ever wanted to own and restore a classic Norton Commando, this could be a great opportunity. I bought this "barn find" example two years ago with that intention. It was, in my opinion, the best of the breed with many of the improvements of the later models but retaining the right foot shift and classic style of the earlier bikes.

It is an original, un-molested, low mileage, numbers matching bike, with a manufacture date of 6/74 on the frame head stock. It is finished in its original metallic flake blue paint finish which is rarely seen these days. Speedo shows 6978. The motor turns over with good compression, carbs are free, clutch works as does the transmission. I have not tried to start this bike and do not know its mechanical history. It has a K&N air filter and period aftermarket cocktail shaker mufflers. The front fender has 3 dings from were something fell on it during storage but I have a good used fender to go with the bike. Seat is in very good shape, chrome on the 19" wheel rims is decent, the tires are dry rotted from storage and may be the originals. No main stand, the gas tank is steel, some surface rust underneath but no rust inside, but it will need old gas deposits cleaned out. Clear Kansas title, correct Lucas head light, and a new Lucas rear lens will be included to replace the broken one currently on the bike.

Please check out the pictures, ask questions, the bike is to be sold as is where is and inspection is welcome. I am located in Wichita KS. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, U-Ship is often the cheapest domestically. Bidders with zero feedback or from overseas, please email me before bidding. This is a NO RESERVE auction, bid to win, I will not end the listing early and I do not have a buy-it-now price.

A deposit of $500.00 through paypal will be required at the auctions close, the remainder to be paid before pickup of the bike.

Prince William The Duke Of Ducs And Other Motorcycles

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, visited Britain’s largest motorcycle show, Motorcycle Live, at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham. The visit saw the Duke astride numerous motorcycle models including UK icons Norton and Triumph as well as a Ducati 1199 Superleggera (one of the few men able to afford the $70,000 rarity). During his visit Prince William enjoyed a display of off-road riding – one of nine opportunities for visitors to ride at Motorcycle Live, eight of which are inside the halls of the NEC. He also met Dean Linehan, exhibitions director of MCI Exhibitions, the company that organizes the annual motorcycle exhibition.

Production of 650cc Norton models will start at the end of next year

Tue, 17 Nov 2020

In addition to the release of V4 and Commando models, the British plan to expand their lineup. The Norton V4 and Commando motorcycles, presented to the public in 2018, will not start rolling off the assembly line until the end of 2021. This is primarily due to the fact that Norton, owned by the Indian company TVS, is currently busy transferring production from Donnington Hall to Solihull.

One Week tells the story of Ben Tyler (Joshua Jackson), in his mid-twenties, who flees from the confines of his life—an impending marriage, a job he’s not entirely happy with and a recent diagnosis—in order to attempt to live more fully.
