MV Agusta 1090R Brutale description

This is a rare 1090R in the best color combination available. A visually stunning bike. I did the research and this is a bike on the street to the RR version. The RR has slightly higher peak hp but less torque. Horsepower may win ultimate top speed races but torque is what you want on the street. This bike pulls HARD. The variable traction control is a great asset on a bike this powerful. It is very lively with little flywheel weight so it spins-up ultra fast. This is also a very comfortable bike with perfect ergonomics for me (6ft/175lbs). It was purchased from MCC in Villa Park and received it's break-in service there as well. A great shop to visit if in the Chicago area.

I am a mature (gray hair) former championship winning racer and take very good care of my bikes. I have owned over 100 and this has the best stock exhaust that I can think of. It looks great, is very quiet when starting and warming-up (neighbor friendly) but as soon as you put it in gear an internal valve opens and it becomes more throaty. It is loud enough when on the road to be well heard but no too loud  - so you can crank on it a bit without attracting attention for half a mile around you which is really nice.

The Italian designers at MV did a stunning job with the colors, details and graphics on this one. I have added a bunch of alloy and titanium fasteners and a lithium battery. There are minor cosmetic rubs on the passenger peg mounts from the bike being transported before I bought it which appear to be from tie-down straps. There is also a minor rub from a heel guard and the rear brake lever rubber is missing. These are very minor cosmetic issues that are not readily noticeable unless you are looking closely. It is otherwise in Excellent condition. It has always been garaged and pampered. I am selling due to having too many bikes too little time to ride being a small business owner with very little time to ride.

Here is a great opportunity to get a true contemporary exotic with extremely low miles in excellent condition for a approximately 1/2 of the original price. It I had not already owned it and saw this listing I would buy it in a minute at this price. If you take good care of it and don't put a lot of miles on, you could probably ride it for a year or two and sell it for similar money as opposed to buying new and taking a huge bath when it comes time to sell.

Check my feedback and bid with confidence. If local you are completely welcome to come and take a look.

Good luck bidding!
Drew

MV Agusta Doubles Production Capacity as F3 Rolls Off the Line

Mon, 06 Feb 2012

MV Agusta announced it is doubling production capacity at its factory in Varese, Italy, thanks mostly to popular demand of its new F3 675 three-cylinder supersport. Thanks to the hype over new products such as the F3, its naked sibling the Brutale 675, as well as the RR1090 and R1090 Brutales, MV Agusta has already received more orders for 2012 than it had for all of 2011, which saw a 12% increase in sales over 2010. To mark the doubling of production capacity as well as the start of production for the special edition F3 Serie Oro, MV Agusta released a video of the bike being constructed on its assembly line.

1974: Onboard an MV racer with Phil Read

Fri, 19 Feb 2010

ANOTHER CRACKING BIT of vintage racing footage, this time featuring multiple motorcycle world champion Phil Read on the awesome-sounding MV Agusta 500-4.The footage is from the 1974 movie 'The Iron Horse' made by Frenchman Pierre-William Glenn.Read’s 1974 500cc World Championship victory was the last year a four-stroke won the world title before the advent of the MotoGP class in 2002. Giacomo Agostini won the crown from Yamaha in 1975, followed by Suzuki-mounted Barry Sheene in '76 and '77. The footage is bloody good, considering the camera technology of the day.
