Kawasaki kz1000 LTD description

1978 Kawasaki 1000 LTD.  Previous owner rebuilt the bike with the major components being rebuilt by Redline Cycle in Illinois.  Check their website for specifics and quality. Engine is 1075 cc, welded crank, undercut 2nd gear with Andrews 2X degreed cams, Dyna coil & ignition with 29mm smoothbores.

Previous owner put 4,000 miles on since the rebuild, I put on about 800 miles and then parked the bike almost 3 years ago.  The tires are good, no cracks, but since they are now ten years old I purchased new ones that will go with the bike.

Engine serial # KZT00AE044792.  I looked it up and although its listed as a 1978, it shows up under the police model sequence.

Seat bar is the KZ type cause I liked it better.  During a long trip I'd put the sissy bar on it.

Everything was redone including powder coating the frame, too much to list. Pictures tell the story.

Bike is sold as is, buyer responsible for shipping/pick up.

Redline rebuilt the carbs early Spring (thank you ethanol gas),  Started it, shut it off, drained all the gas, put in 1 gallon ethanol free Supreme in the tank, changed oil, plugs, but left the gas off.

Kawasaki KLR650 Returning For 2015

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

One of Kawasaki’s most popular sellers, the go-anywhere, do-anything KLR650 will once again be a staple of Kawasaki’s 2015 lineup. Preferring to run on either dirt or asphalt, the dual-purpose bike is very versatile, able to take riders almost anywhere they wish to go on- and off-road. The 651cc Single may not be the most inspiring engine in the world, but it gets the job done.
