Kawasaki Other description

This 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1600 was bought with the idea of taking time off and doing grand tours over the Western USA. Before anything else, a Windshield and Fairing were purchased along with a Top Trunk for cutting through the elements and that Queens Perch needed to persuade his wife to accompany him. Everything was color matched to the stock Vulcan Paint and the accessories could pass for Factory Options. Music apparently was any important part of these travel plans and large speakers face the rider powered by an Eclipse Stereo. The bike is powered by a Liquid Cooled 1600 VOLT-Twin and a set of Vance & Hines Chrome Pipes were added out back. Along with the Factory Hard Bags, the Tail Trunk offers a huge amount of room for long distance travels. The box is Fiberglass, not ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM and should hold up well to what ever it ends up carrying. After all of this money and effort into building the perfect long distance 2 up bike, plans were made for the Grand Summer Tour. A fall from a fourteen feet Ladder broke 2 legs and an arm put an abrupt halt to all and any plans. The bike has been sitting in the garage for things to change, but motorcycling is permanently off the bucket list. With 5404 mis showing, the bike is ready for thousands more. The selling price is $7,995. Please come by and see at Automania, 895 SE Gladiola Drive, Grants Pass, OR 97526. http://www.automaniagp.com 541 479 XXXX Oregon Dealer DA1287. Results From Day 2 Of World Superbike Testing At Phillip Island

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

World Superbike testing at Phillip Island came to a close today, and when the dust settled, reigning champion Tom Sykes stamped his authority, setting the fastest time of the test at 1:30.239, just five thousandths shy of the outright lap record held by Carlos Checa. The time was set during the morning session of testing, though nobody was able to best Sykes for the remainder of the day. Eugene Laverty, who was fastest on day one, showed his pace was no fluke as he stayed near the top of the time sheets, ultimately finishing second behind Sykes, with a best time of 1:30.513.

EICMA 2011: Kawasaki Versys 1000 Not Coming to U.S.

Wed, 09 Nov 2011

While Kawasaki unveiled its Versys 1000 at EICMA, don’t expect to see it on American roadways any time soon (edit: but if you live north of the border in Canada you’re in luck, as it will offered for CN$13,999, a bit higher than the Z1000 but the same price as the Ninja 1000): What will we be missing? A bigger, badder version of the original Kawasaki Versys seems to be the answer. “Created as the long-awaited big brother of Kawasaki’s mid-size any-road street surfer, the new Versys 1000 is designed to enable the greatest riding enjoyment in the widest variety of street riding situations,” Kawasaki Motors Europe says in a release.

Isle of Man TT 2013: Lightweight TT Race Results

Fri, 07 Jun 2013

James Hillier set new lap time and race time records in a dominating victory in the Lightweight TT race for the 2013 Isle of Man TT. All three of the Kawasaki rider’s lap times were faster than the previous lap record for the Lightweight TT class, for a record overall time of 57:42.245 and average speed of 117.694 mph. The race started with another Kawasaki rider (the class is dominated with Kawasaki Ninja 650s with a few Suzuki SV650s) Dean Harrison taking the early lead through the Glen Helen viewpoint but Hillier was right on his tail about half a second behind.
