Kawasaki Other description

2006 Kawasaki Concours Sport Touring 1000cc ZG1000 with 30,5xx miles.  NO RESERVE

Beautiful deep blue color and in good but not perfect condition. Bike runs great and has plenty of power to enjoy the curves and the straightaways.

The sport touring configuration merges the best of both worlds of the touring bike and the sport bikes.

From the touring world: Large comfortable seat, large gas tank for long range cruising, shaft drive for low maintenance and great dependability, plenty of storage space and a full faring to protect you from the wind and extend the riding season well into the winter.

From the sport world: Very fast 1000cc inline four cylinder engine is smooth and has plenty of horse power and torque, six speed transmission, sport tuned suspension allows for tight turns and back road excitement.

This bike has been well maintained. The bike was dropped in some gravel and has cosmetic damage on the left side (see photos). The left rear pannier is damaged but still fully functional.  Left pannier frame has a broken piece and the bag can not be locked to the frame.  Bag rides securely and has is in no danger of coming off.

The included rear Givi-style (not Givi brand) rear trunk is include in the sale (for sales price over $2750).  Holds two full face helmets and other. All bags can be easily removed without tools in less than a minute a piece.

Very dependable bike runs great. Tires in good shape.   The bike is located in Edgewater, MD   21037 .  Call me with any questions or to see the bike ( Glenn  540-908-8757)

Sykes Staying with Kawasaki Through 2016 WSBK Season

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

Reigning World Superbike Champion Tom Sykes has signed a contract extension with Kawasaki to see him continue to ride for Team Green through the 2016 season. Sykes, who currently holds a 44-point lead over Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli with three rounds remaining in the season, has been with Kawasaki since 2010. Since hopping on board the Ninja ZX-10R superbike, Sykes has won 22 WSBK races and holds a record for 23 Superpoles in the current qualifying format.

Kawasaki Producing 599cc 2013 Ninja ZX-6R for Japanese Racing Homologation

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

When Kawasaki announced it was upping the engine displacement for the Ninja ZX-6R to 636cc, the immediate question on many Team Green fans’ minds was what it would mean for the company’s supersport racing efforts. Kenan Sofuloglu won the 2012 World Supersport Championship on a Kawasaki ZX-6R, but under the regulations, he may not be allowed to defend his title next season on the 2013 model as homologation requirements in Supersport racing series limit Inline-Fours to displacements smaller than 600cc. Fear not however, as Kawasaki will be producing a special version of the ZX-6R with an engine displacement of 599cc, the same as the 2012 version.
