Kawasaki Other description

Up for auction is my 1974 Kawasaki S3 Mach II 400 Triple.  This S3 would be the ideal restoration candidate as it is very complete and overall very correct and in good overall, restorable condition.  Unfortunately, I now realize I don’t have the time to give it the attention it deserves.  The frame number appearing on this S3 is S3F-02953 and the engine number appearing on this S3 is S3E-03119 making this a numbers matching correct original motorcycle. The build date reads 9/73. The odometer currently reads 15,367 miles. This S3 would be an excellent example to do a complete restoration on and the new owner could be enjoying this S3 this summer by restoring it.

This S3 would be a perfect candidate for a complete restoration or daily driver with some restoration work performed. I purchased it because it is very complete/original and has most of the hard to find parts in good, restorable condition.  The bike could be used as is as a daily driver after a light restoration/rebuilding and some maintenance or could easily be restored to show quality. The fuel tank is in nice, restorable condition and does have some slight fading from age but is overall nice with no major damage.  The inside of the fuel tank is also very clean and fresh.  The side covers are present and could be used as is or restored with the fuel tank. The front fender is the correct original and shines very nicely. The original handlebars also shine nicely and do not appear to be bent. The rims and wheels are clean with no major rust and are very original. The exhaust set on this S3 is in overall good original condition and could be used as is on a daily driver.  The exhaust pipes do have some minor scrapes and scratches but are overall very nice and very difficult to find. The head pipes are also in very nice condition as well.  The electrical components are also present on this S3 and in good condition as well.  The gauges and handlebar switches are in original condition and are respectable.  The hard to find rear grab bar is also mounted and in nice condition

Mechanically this S3 is frozen up most likely from sitting so long. This motorcycle did turn over with good compression at one time and did run at some point. Unfortunately this S3 sat un-attended for so long that the piston rings probably froze to the cylinder walls.  This is typical in the Midwest with the temperature extremes we experience. The engine should be gone through but should not need many hard parts.  A mechanic did take a look at the bike and does feel that the bottom end/crankshaft is mechanically good and that the rings are most likely froze to the cylinder walls. The mechanic believes that the bike is frozen from sitting for many years un-attended.  The engine should be an easy restoration and will no doubt run crisp and strong someday.

Overall, this is a reasonably good condition, clean and original 1974 S3 that could be used as is with some maintenance/rebuilding and restoration or would be an excellent candidate for a complete show quality restoration since it is so complete and overall pretty original.  The most difficult part is done, finding the S3 with a clear title.  I of course do have a clear title for this S3 and the original key as well.  These S3’s along with all Kawasaki Triples are becoming very difficult to find especially from a reliable collector with excellent feed back and as always at a starting price of $0.01 with no reserve.

Regarding Payment and Shipping, I will accept a wire transfer or a certified check for the S3.  Payment must be received within 10 days of the close of the auction.  I will and can assist with shipping this bike anywhere in the USA or any other country in the World.  I have exported many motorcycles to Australia, Japan, France and the rest of Europe and have many different channels to get bikes exported for a reasonable cost and safely. I can also work directly with your shipper if you are outside the U.S.A to get this motorcycle to you.  I can help with the paperwork and any customs forms free of charge as well.  We can work together and get this bike to you if you are outside the USA-it is no problem at all.  I can also deliver this bike to Forward Air free of charge or may be able to deliver within 500 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  The bike is sold as is.

Please feel free to contact me via the ask seller a question link on this auction listing or call me (Kurt) directly at 651-895-5155.  I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding this S3.  Also, please look at my feedback and bid with complete confidence.  I only offer the finest NOS parts and rare motorcycles from my collection and I have thousands of happy customers around the world.

Scorpion silencer for Z800e

Sun, 22 Sep 2013

PERFORMANCE exhaust manufacturer Scorpion has launched a silencer for Kawasaki's Z800e which it says adds 4.9bhp while shaving 5.4kg off weight. The Z800e is Kawasaki's A2-friendly version of the Z800, with claimed power reduced from 111 to 94bhp. A2 licence holders limited to 47bhp can ride a machine which has been restricted but it must not have made more that 94bhp to begin with, making the Z800e eligible.

Community Tip: How to Shave your Motorcycle Seat

Thu, 30 Jul 2009

Motorcycle communities are a huge resource for any kind of project or help you might need.  It’s incredible the amount of stuff people post and the effort they put into it! arturo3rd on Kawiforums.com posted some great tips and photos on how to shave down your motorcycle seat for a more comfortable ride. Things you’ll need: flat screwdriver pliers sharp knife(steak) rough grit sand paper staple gun I’m unsure if all motorcycle seats are made of the same material so be wary before you start if your motorcycle isn’t a Kawasaki.
